here's some info I've gathered by request

Hey there i have a 08 with factory stereo but aftermarket sub and two amps for interior speakers and sub. Even though i have disconnected the ANC mics i still get a buzzing from my sub when i have the bass up. Any suggestions? :dunno:

Thanks, i removed the rear connector to the mic and the subwoofer stopped making the boom sound

Okay so I installed a JL sub with a Phoenix Gold amp. I'm pretty sure whenever I got it installed, the installers unplugged the rear ANC mic but the front ANC mic is still plugged in. If I were to unplug the front ANC mic, would the strange subwoofer noise be gone? Or would I have to go to the back of the head unit and unplug the ANC completely?

if you are hearing the "strange" sound then your mics are still active. gotta get both the front and rear ones or you will blow your sub.

okay so I found out today that they unplugged both of the mics(front and rear) and the "strange" sound is still occurring. would i have to unplug the anc plug altogether behind the head unit? would that make a difference?

pop it off and see if that works. do you have an aftermarket hu or oem one?

I have an oem head unit. I don't know if anyone has run into the same kind of problem where both mics were unplugged yet that strange sound still occured. I just don't know how to get to that plug or which one it is. Is there anything that could help me out?

try posting that problem but under a more descriptive thread. i have an aftermarket headunit you would have to find members who have done this mod with the oem head unit they would definately know for sure.
