MotorCity Honda 03-06-2008, 01:47 PM Black,... IMO red would be like trying to fool someone into thinking you have performance brakes = rice Honda High 03-06-2008, 03:04 PM I am thinking of painting mine, but I will probably do silver as that is what they were in the beginning. I just want to get them back to the clean look they had new. I don't want to try and show I have fancy brakes when I don't. 421 03-06-2008, 03:56 PM Black,... IMO red would be like trying to fool someone into thinking you have performance brakes = rice yes. don't do yellow either. maddog0z 03-07-2008, 02:30 AM Red isn't too bad, i think it goes good w/ the color silver. Yah it does look a little ricey. But since I have it on my car, I cant really knock it ;). but **** it, its your car right. Heres the thread to mine, people seemed to like it. http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10996 Dont do yellow. Id personally do red, black, or silver. James.uk 03-07-2008, 05:06 AM No matter what you do to them, they will never look nice.. But if you buy some substantial Ally wheels, they will hide all the ugly functional bits that work your brakes, and add to your cars appearance at the same time. :) . dalefanatic38 03-07-2008, 06:35 AM i have the five spoke ex rims and im tired of looking at rusty calipers. i work at advance auto and all we have is red, black, and i think silver. i just wanted to see what the diff colors look like. yellow is out of the ?. redziggy 03-07-2008, 07:24 AM I like calipers that match the body color of the car. Silver wouldn't really stand out, but I don't know if you want them to stand out or blend in! I've wondered to myself how mine would look painted blue, but I imagine I'd just end up making things look worse. As they are the silver blends in with the wheel and other brake bits rather than being a noticeable part. ArchS2000 03-07-2008, 08:03 AM this is what i used on my S2000 and it came out great and are holding up fine after a year now. http://www.g2usa.com/ dalefanatic38 03-08-2008, 07:02 AM come on guys. i know there are some sweet cars on here. lets see some more pics. i think i might go with red or black. i want to get some of those rims that are black with a crome lip. so i might go black. MotorCity Honda 03-08-2008, 01:06 PM dont go red it will look like a poser,,they aren't perf brakes go black 421 03-08-2008, 05:01 PM dont go red it will look like a poser,,they aren't perf brakes go black really pushin the black huh motorcity:lmao: AccordEd 03-09-2008, 09:11 AM On a silver car I'd do silver or aluminum high temp. Definitely not yellow or red because you don't want to bring too much attention to the puny stock calipers. If you really want to do it right though I'd powder coat them silver. I could show you silver painted on my previous car if you want. I used aluminum high temp with high temp clear, came out pretty good but you have to touch them up every year. The paint is supposed to withstand high temps but after a while the paint starts to lose it's luster. I did my rotor hats as well. Bluek24a4 03-09-2008, 12:59 PM I did silver on my friends silver car and it came out really clean looking. I am going to be changing mine from blue to black within the month. maddog0z 03-09-2008, 02:51 PM dont go red it will look like a poser,,they aren't perf brakes go black what a bummer, i dont want to seem the poser! ::dunno: Ugh, i dont mind them red i think they look decent. Black is very nice though. MotorCity Honda 03-09-2008, 03:00 PM what a bummer, i dont want to seem the poser! ::dunno: Ugh, i dont mind them red i think they look decent. Black is very nice though. To me it's kind of like putting a V6 emblem on an I4... or the "H" emblem with the red backround when you dont have what it represents... = poser, meaning posing to be something you are not... That's just my humble opinion - at the end of the day, it's your ride so go with what you like maddog0z 03-10-2008, 05:07 AM To me it's kind of like putting a V6 emblem on an I4... or the "H" emblem with the red backround when you dont have what it represents... = poser, meaning posing to be something you are not... That's just my humble opinion - at the end of the day, it's your ride so go with what you like I agree with you about the V6 on an I4 (Definately a Poser move), not sure about the H w/ the red background. I dont know what that means or represents? SI? Type R? I dunno, what does it mean? But red calipers doesnt mean performance to me, just contrast. I always appreciate someone who wants something different than the norm. If I went and put brembo stickers on it, than yah that'd make me a poser. But just simply having them red doesnt make me a ricer or poser. I would never consider my car as a ricer car. I dont want to sound like I'm arguing with you because I agree with you as to what makes a poser. So Im sorry if I come off like I'm being argumentive. I just take it to heart when someone calls me a poser. And you didnt' necessarily do that per se'. But when I first read it, it sounded like it. But anyway Cheers to this forum, love the sticker. mitchleary 03-10-2008, 05:36 AM would you be able to buy a set of red brembos? then you would not have a poser problem. MotorCity Honda 03-10-2008, 06:58 AM I agree with you about the V6 on an I4 (Definately a Poser move), not sure about the H w/ the red background. I wouldn't call you or anyone else on here a poser.. like I said it's your ride and ultimately your choice:thmsup:.. I am just telling you what I think as I am driving down the road and see a set of red calipers on a non performance brake set up. MotorCity Honda 03-10-2008, 06:59 AM would you be able to buy a set of red brembos? then you would not have a poser problem. Agreed maddog0z 03-10-2008, 07:38 AM so what does the red honda emblem signify? Is that JDM, Type-R, SI? plz excuse my ignorance MotorCity Honda 03-10-2008, 03:31 PM so what does the red honda emblem signify? That's just my humble opinion - at the end of the day, it's your ride so go with what you like Its totally cosmetic and has nothing to do with fooling anyone. Gotcha.... Ha there just regular brake calipers, and you thought they were something HOT! Putting a dual muffler on an I4 is weak, and throwing on the red badge is too.... agreed (i feel this way cause I have a 6MT!) Mine are Red and I like the way they look compared to stock, and they also flow well with the taillights. I still wish that I painted them White. dalefanatic38 03-12-2008, 03:30 PM id like to see some silver painted ones. Marc04LX 03-12-2008, 04:27 PM I painted mine with Ace brand black BBQ paint, the rear drums too. I think gray or a matte silver would look cool, but low key. BOXKING 03-13-2008, 02:37 PM BBQ Hmmmm sounds good! 421 03-13-2008, 06:46 PM BBQ Hmmmm sounds good! hell yeah I wish they had Sonny's in cali I'm cravin some ribs, mac & cheese, and some sweet tea, that's the first thing I do when I get off the plane. ever since they made that no liquid over 3oz rule they won't let me bring food onto the plane either since the bbq sauce on ribs & the beans contain a liquid, if you guys are ever in MCO and you see some guy goin nuts over some ribs, that's me:nuts: build a sonny's across the street from Roscoe's on Pico and I'll never leave cali. ever. |
