does the 7th gen 2003 ACCORD V6 COUPE suspension fit the 2003-2007 sedan?
Would it be a good "upgrade" for an LX (I4 auto) model?

Huffer 03-07-2008, 05:04 PM Apparently the part#'s for the V6 coupe suspension are the SAME as the sedan...can anyone confirm this for me? Where should I look for part#'s - the dealer is closed at the moment. Accordlover 03-07-2008, 05:10 PM It's no different... Honda makes an upgraded suspension. - HFP Kit. I'm not sure if it fits 4cyl sedans though. Google around. Huffer 03-08-2008, 08:00 AM What about if I just used the struts? The Accord has 130k on it right now, it'll need at least new shocks soon. abailey4 03-08-2008, 08:09 AM you have to look at the springs too. and swapping to a stock V6 suspension is completely pointless. the front spring rates would be off too since its tuned for the heavier V6 motor. Exactly right. I just went through explaining this a lot over the last week since I was selling my springs. If you need new shocks you might as well get some aftermarket cuz the price of them will most likely be less. If you want to stay Oem then just get the exact same suspension you have now. But since you said you wanna upgrade you might as well go with my first suggestion. Aviography 03-08-2008, 08:12 AM Sturts and springs work together, so they are tuned to complement each other based on the weight of the car and the intent of the application (i.e. comfort, performance etc.). Can you put them on? Yes, but it may not work ideally for a I4 engine car........ jackpop 03-08-2008, 11:11 PM wow, so then the coupe really isn't any smaller or sportier than the sedan.. I always thought the coupe had a factory stiffer sportier suspension, guess not. Huffer 03-10-2008, 06:22 PM Sturts and springs work together, so they are tuned to complement each other based on the weight of the car and the intent of the application (i.e. comfort, performance etc.). Can you put them on? Yes, but it may not work ideally for a I4 engine car........ Are you really sure about that? Look at the part#'s -even KYB lists the part# for the coupe is the SAME as the sedan, regardless of engine spec. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm checking with the knowledgable folks here in case my digging isn't correct. Now... if I can get a full set of coupe suspension with under 100miles - for $125 - is that still worth it? (and no, I'm not kidding you) Aviography 03-10-2008, 06:59 PM Look at the *shock absorber assembly* part numbers, they are not the same between the V-6 and I-4, my bet is that the springs will have different spring rates to compensate the different weight and distribution between the V-6 and I-4 cars, that would be common sense. A set of shocks/springs for $125 that is less than 100 miles, that's a good price, I would buy it in a heart beat, but I have a Coupe so I know that will work properly....... Hell if I can talk you out of buying it then I WILL buy it! :) PanzerLeader 03-12-2008, 05:59 PM If this is the case , will the HONDA HPF suspension for the V6 Coupe Fit the V6 Sedan? CA05LXDriver 03-12-2008, 06:57 PM The springs are different between DX, LX/EX 4cyl, and V6, and between Couple / Sedan if I recall correctly. | |
