I've decided to add a Seafoam intake cleaning to my maintenance @150K. I'm just wondering if any sensors monitor the vacuum/pressure when the PCV hose is removed while engine is running.
This will be a first for me and because the 6th Gen is OBD2, it's not as easy to reset manually if a code pops up. I'd hate to bother Autozone for something I induce while servicing it.
So, has anyone done a Seafoam treatment thru the PCV hose on a 6th Gen? Did it throw a code?

Yes I have done mine twice and no codes set..
Make sure motor is at operating temp before adding and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before restarting..
!! Make sure tailpipe is faced away from house and garage before treatment !!
I always drive a couple of miles after.

I1...do you pour the Seafoam into the PCV hose or just stick the hose into the bottle and hope it suctions it up?
I thought I read where you add it until it stalls the engine, thats why I was wondering about settting codes.
Do you use the entire bottle at one cleaning?

Resetting codes isn't that hard, pull the clock fuse for a minute or something like that...I've done it before, I could look up the exact time for you if you want.

I pour it in. I hold the RPM up and use a 1/2 can then shut it down. Add the other half to the fuel to displace any moisture.
I have used a whole cans before with no ill effects.
It can also be added to the crankcase if you have any signs of moisture.

Don't you have to replace the oil afterwards?

Yes it would be a good idea, but you need to run at least one hour before changing to get the full benefits..;)
