And how do I check it? My maintenance log on my 05 Hybrid says, "Check expiration date of IMS bottle." Does that have something to do with the electric motor?
Thank you!

No Clue. Can you call a Honda dealer and ask them since they are the authority?

Instant Mobility System
" In another move designed to keep excess weight on the Accord Hybrid to a minimum, developers opted to eliminate the temporary spare tire from the Hybrid's trunk. Instead, Accord Hybrid owners will use a new Instant Mobility System (IMS) that fixes flat tires caused by the most common driving road hazzards. This system, already in use on certain European Honda models, requires just a minimum of effort and will fix most flat tires after three simple steps.
The system is composed of a one-time use can of rubber sealant that injects into the flat tire's valve stem and a small air compressor that is powered by the Accord Hybrid's 12V accessory outlet. After injecting the sealant into the tire and inflating it to the appropriate p.s.i., it is recommended that the car is driven no faster that 50 mph. After 10 minutes, the driver should stop and check to ensure that the tire has held its inflation.
The Accord Hybrid's IMS is held in a special tool kit underneath the cargo area floor where a traditional spare would normally be located. If desired, a temporary spare tire is available as a dealer-installed option. "

Who woulda thought? I think I would spring for a temp spare.

Spares are definitely nice, but between products like "Fix-A-Flat", cellphones, and AAA, they just aren't as vital as they used to be.
Plus, tires are getting so reliable anymore that I can't remember the last time I had a flat. (I had a tread separate about a year ago, but the tire still held air. The tire in question was at least 10 years old, too.)
In lots of the really small cars where modifying space is at a premium you'll see the owners nix the spare in favor of more practical daily stuff. Like the Fiero enthusiasts - quite a few of them rely on Fix-A-Flat and AAA, and then relocate the battery under the hood or put a subwoofer in there or something like that.

pretty cool. I know some of the smaller bmw's have run-flat tires and no spare...pretty cool, but to change out the wheels...EXPENSIVE!!!

Wonder what special sealer they use? Will it damage TPMS sensors??

I have never run into any issue with "fix a Flat" type cans but have heard they have trouble with balancing, as the sealant I guess doesn't get dispersed evenly enough.
I rather have a spare if space is there for it.
