View Full Version : Pizza stillerfanswife 12-07-2004, 12:15 PM What is your favorite place to get pizza? princess 12-07-2004, 12:33 PM We have a take & bake place called Papa Murphy's. Nice fluffy, bready crust & near grease-less toppings.... It's one of the few we enjoy, we're not much for pizza.... The kids will eat anything.... it just needs cheese & they're happy! :) My prince likes ones with ham or canadian bacon....no pineapple! I'll take anything except anchovies....:puke: Inspector1 12-07-2004, 12:39 PM Maybe you should have titled this large chains, I think most people who really like pizza will have a local pizzeria that tops all the chains...... Anyone remember Godfathers??? Do they still have stores in the States somewhere???? We have some large local chains in the Cincinnati area. Larosa's, Angilo's, Mio's, Pizzeria UNO and Trotta's...... If anyone every go's to Indianapolis there is a place called Union Jack.... Great Chicago Style Pizza.. Tons of toppings a definite Pizza meal!!! I used to eat a whole large from Domino's or Pizza Hut by myself but could only eat 2 pieces of Union Jack before being stuffed!!! I1:) anysia 12-07-2004, 01:42 PM i voted vocelli simply cuz i love their breadsticks! :) i also love a couple of local ones-italian village & brothers pizza. pizza uno is another good one I1! there was an awesome pizza in some place in universal studios florida-or atleast there was in 1995 when i was there last! i can't remember the name.... stiller fan 12-07-2004, 03:00 PM luciano's in white oak, pa!! :) :D :blah:  :drink: :grouphug: :joker:     :notworthy :beatnik: :jumping: :lmao:  stiller fan 12-07-2004, 03:01 PM sfw: remember that papa jons pizza we went to? it's now a manhattan bagel!!!! :censored:   :censored:  :censored: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :dunno: :dunno:   Coil99 12-07-2004, 04:34 PM <------"None of the above" Dave 12-07-2004, 08:26 PM Bertucci's. i think its a local chain Walt43 12-08-2004, 10:30 AM In Central NJ (at least in my area) its considered 'unethical' to go anywhere but to a local pizza shop. We have access to at least 10 independent shops within a 1 mile radius. Luckily, the closest is one of the best (1/4 mile away). We don't have a Papa John's at all, Pizza Hut only has a delivery store (no sit down) and all of the Domino's have consolidated into 1 shop due to low demand. I never heard of Votelli's..... Little Caesar's shut down a while ago. Are they still around anywhere? When I travel I'm inevitably disappointed by the pizza and bagel choices. I guess I'm just spoiled (or just lucky). benjamming 12-08-2004, 11:51 AM We eat Domino's every couple months. I get a free pizza coupon when I donate blood. I like pretty much anything homemade over bought stuff. feferic 12-08-2004, 01:42 PM Lots of Godfather Pizza's here in Nebraska (one is just a few blocks from my house). Must admint - not my fav -- Papa John's gets my vote. stillerfanswife 12-08-2004, 01:48 PM Originally posted by stiller fan sfw: remember that papa jons pizza we went to? it's now a manhattan bagel!!!! :censored:   :censored:  :censored: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :dunno: :dunno:   holy crap!!! wonder why? that sucks:sorry: you know that i saw a Luciano's Pizza in the North Hills? I was shocked!! Thought there was the one and only by you. It's cool thought:) stiller fan 12-08-2004, 01:53 PM maybe they own more than one? stillerfanswife 12-08-2004, 01:58 PM they must in less someone else stole the name, lol. there is a Vincent's pizza and a Vincent's pasta place, owned by two different families. jdowen2 12-11-2004, 06:35 PM When I worked in Calif, I'd go to Mountain Mike's in Pleasanton. Great stuff. princess 12-12-2004, 07:30 AM Hey, that's our neck of the woods!! Mt. Mike's is very popular here, but I've never had it. I did pick some up years ago as room mother for one of the kids' classes. The party size barely fit in the trunk! They were huge!!! jbungard 12-22-2004, 09:43 PM Ray's Pizza - Glendale, AZ Slugger's Pizza - E. Moline, IL. Parkwood Inn - Greensburg, PA No Longer In Business: Chick's Pizza - Jeanette, PA Pizza Shack - Barstow, CA Nancy's Pizza - Glendale, AZ princess 12-23-2004, 05:33 AM Do they still have the pizza place with the huge pipe organ in PHX? I don't remember the name of it.... I was a really long time ago. It was LOUD there! jbungard 12-23-2004, 09:50 AM That would be Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa, AZ. The original Organ Stop Pizza in Phoenix was sold, then demolished in 1984 when the owner retired and sold his business to a developer. The pipe organ from the Phoenix Organ Stop Pizza was sold to an Illinois family who installed it in their home. The Mesa Organ Stop Pizza opened in 1975 with a huge Wurlitzer pipe organ purchased from the Denver Theatre Company. This organ has been improved an enlarged over the years. If you are ever in the Phoenix/Mesa area, a visit to the Organ Stop is worth the time and effort. It is located at the corner of Stapley and Southern Ave. in Mesa. Organ Stop Pizza has limited hours: 4 pm to 9 pm or so. The organ is played by one of several nationally-reknowned organists each day. The pizza isn't bad either! princess 12-23-2004, 10:32 AM Wow! You know more about it than I imagined! I was there as a teen with my brother. I don't remember much about the pizza, just the loudness! I wonder why anyone would put a room sized organ in their home??? maybe mostly to save it..... Sounds like the Mesa one is near where my mom lived for a while.... so I've been to the neighborhood, just not in the pizza place. Both of my daughters also lived in Mesa for a bit. anysia 12-24-2004, 05:31 AM oh, thought of another great local pizza place-cory pizza. :D and you buy it prepped, but not cooked so you can take it home and eat it "fresh" over the course fo a few days! jbungard 12-24-2004, 08:31 AM Thanks foir the Western PA pizza tips. I travel to PA once in a while to visit family and will be sure to look these up. I love good pizza ! |
