my car is pretty much done!!! it's off to the dealership either this afternoon or tomorrow morning to have the airbag reinstalled. then it will be DONE!!! it's about time!!!
convieniently i'm off of work on friday, so assuming everything goes as planned and i maage to pick up my car tomorrow, i should be able to head out to the dealership friday to get an idea of the numbers on the possibility of a trade in too! :D
one bad thing down, 50,000 more yet to conquer. (princess~you'd think i'd have tried the remedy for bad karma last night!! i even found a potential connection to help with the ticket.... maybe. not getting my hopes up though.)

wow. curiousity, did that side airbag hurt you at all? afterwards anyway? I'm sure you wouldn't notice that hurting ya at the time.

my shoulder hurt for a day or two, not too bad though. justa dull ache. my neck hurt a little too. oddly it went from the left side hurting on that first day and then switched to the right side at some point!

I don't know. I work with airbags and such and blow them off outside of cars, but have never experienced one go off, or talked to anyone that has. except one tall guy I know had his front bag blow off, but he is tall, therefore sitting far back and it didn't even reach him. had his seat belt on of course. so just trying to get an idea of the effect it has, other than helping reduce injury. that's all. :)

i'm pretty sure it saved me from an actual injury. i don't remember how much i was tossed around or anything, it all happened so quick. but my guess is, i probably would've hit the door, maybe even the window, had the airbag not been there, and hitting that hard surface would've been much worse! :sorry:

FINALLY!!!! i went over there this morning, paid the deductible, ubt only got to look at my car... they were finishing cleaning the inside and buffing it. :(
so i had to go to work for a meeting before it was done.
i just got back from picking it up!!! i'm so happy to be back in my car again!!! a little nervous from the few stops on hills i had to do on my way home since it had been awhile! but other than that, i am so glad i am finally back in my car!!!! :D
the grand total moved up to $8,360....

except try to trade it in on an 05!! ;)

they ended up having to add some stuff to the list of fixes... some stuff with the a pillar, upper rail, sash channel, actuator, trim panel assembly, roof moldings, lock assembly, speaker....
another was "pull and square unibody & frame". not sure i like that one!
the estmiate was 6378, so the increase to 8360 was nearly 2,000 more!
it was the first 7th gen manual transmission accordthe body shop had worked on. the body shop guy now loves my car. he was surprised at the amount of power it had and the overall ride quality! ;)

this morning i was reminded of why i love my car.
it feels sure of itself on the road. there is no wishy-washy-ness. i think it all boils down to the suspension. in the camry i never "felt" the road. the car just left you feeling so far removed from it that it seemed harder to drive it safely. in contrast, my car feels like i'm one with the road.
i'm also thankful for the touchiness of the brakes (even though i did manage to hit my head on the visor once....)
i'm thankful for being able to see the spedometer clearly and not have the steering wheel cut off the numbers.
i'm thankful to no longer feel like i'm sitting on the dash board of the car i'm driving.
i'm thankful for my seat (as silly as it sounds!)
i'm thankful for my manual transmission, although i have to get my comfort level back on hills..... :(
now if only i could loose the "body shop smell" and the fear of finding something wrong with my car!

Glad to see you back to your ol Honda self:D
Just watch for chips and dents in paint from salt on roads.. fresh paint will chip easy. Park it in the sun every chance you get to help cure!!
But again Glad you have your car back!

ARGHHHHHH!!!!
so i washing my car today and pulled it out into the sunlight (first day since i got it back that it is sunny out...) and there is a big ol' indentation on the passenger side of the roof right next to the sunroof! damnit! i really didn't feel like going back to the body shop to complain today! plus that means that they'll likely want my car back for atleast a few days again!!!!!!!
:censored: :censored: :censored:
:bawling:
i was supposed to go see what the numbers would be for a trade in today too! :bawling:

no new car for now... mine's only worth $15,000 as a trade. too much damage........
i *would* actually already have equity in the car had it not been in an accident. :bawling:

am i being too picky?? i found a bunch of places where there is no clear coat over the paint (mainly along the edges of the hood and along the edges of the gas tank cover) and a few chips alongside the molding along the driver's side of the roof-looks like it's from them trying to put the molding in place.... (not too mention that the molding is popping out of it's groove by the windshield). :bawling:
plus they didn't put the little rubber pieces back on underneath the hood. :sorry:
am i just going to find one little quirk after another forever now??
