Just an FYI - Received a phone call from XM inquiring if I want to keep my service after the 90 day trial expires. After listening to the representative quote monthly rates - which appeared to be voodoo math to me -, I simply stated that I wanted the $77 year deal. Representative paused, then agreed, noting, "Since you quoted this promotion rate, we will honor it."
So - the deal is still good. Did not have to provide any code, etc. Just 1-year at $77.

Does anybody know if this rate (or other promotion) applies north of the border? The website quotes around $15 per month for service, but I would prefer to pay half that if possible :D

I just renewed (for the third time) on my 06 Vette for $77/year. Seems the ZWINBACK promotion is alive and well.

I actually got a mailer for the winback program. My wife got it for me for my b-day about 2 weeks ago.
I think $77/yr is plenty fair, though I would much prefer an a la carte option (not "packages", either). I only listen to about 10-12 XM stations (comedy, decades, Gospel), so a la carte would be even more practical.
Regular price/yr is just ridiculous.

Sure......make sure you carefully read what you wrote....$77 per MONTH. I got it for $77 a YEAR.....lol
Maybe thats why the guy on the other end paused, then agreed to give you the price you quoted. Guess this is how they cover the cost of those people that pay $77 a year.
I know you got it for $77 a year. I just thought it was funny reading it the way you wrote it, and how happy you seemed. lol

My free 3 month trial just expired today. I called up XM, said I wanted to renew but only at the $77/year price. She didn't even hesitate, said sure  I just asked politely, who knew that would work :) Thanks for the tips everyone, this forum just saved me some bucks!

Okay - Okay, I get it. Yes - it was $77 per year. Not per month!

I typed too fast in my initial message. I intended to say $77 for the whole year, after trial period expires.

I am a newbe but I just picked up my car on Monday and the XM was activated. Should it have been activated or was I supposed to do it myself? How does XM know when my 3 months started?

Yes, it should of already been activated. You're good.
They know when the 90 days stat because the dealership process lets them know. XM has reps that frequent the dealers regularly, as well.
It WILL cancel automatically if you don't renew (mine did), so no worries if you don't want it. But if you do, then claim the $77/yr deal before your 90 days expires so you can avoid any re-activation fees.

Don't worry; XM will find you, and well before the 90 day trial ends. My trial period is less than a month old, and I already received a call.

I'm wondering about that my self. I got that thing you're refering to.
something like $12.xx/mo and same for 1 year and something less per additional year, so if you buy it for like 3 years it's $9.99/mo or so.
XM hasn't called though. My 90 days expires the last day of June.
Should I call and ask for the $77/yr promo (and claim I have friends that have gotten it)???? That's a killer deal, works out to only $6.41/mo

Also, remember to have them bill you instead of giving your credit card info. Reports of them givning a hard time to re-up you at the deal instead of regular price. They may want to charge you a couple of dollars for the paper; still worth it to me.

BUT OF COURSE "TURBODAVE". I recently called and I just told them that i wanted to continue my service. At first, I let them explain to me the deals they had and the regular pricing they had. After she was done with that. I told her, "Can i just get the $77/year price deal" and she said "Oh, did someone quote that to you" and i said "yes, well when i bought the car, my dealership told me about it". And then that convinced her. she said, "oh, ok, well go ahead and give you that deal, but only this one time, and only one time only". LOL. So it worked and I was happy about that. Just gave her all my info so its all cool.....

Three months after my free subscription expired, I called up XM and asked for the $77/year price based on the posts in this forum, which they agreed to and I bought immediately. Then when I read my snail mail later the very same day, I had a letter from XM Radio offerring me $77/year OR $20 for 5 months! If you do the math the $20 deal is a lower cost per month but I don't really care. Now I can just listen to it for a year with no renewal interruptions. Its funny that the letter was in the mail on the same day I ordered it though.

If you wanna have a quick chuckle, check out the pic posted below. XM canada considers the Murano a honda model. Just thought I'd share!

I got the $77 deal on 2 radios a little over a week ago. Really easy, just called up and said I wanted to get the $77 deal and the lady knew exactly what I meant. They do charge $4 though if you want a bill and don't pay by credit card.

ok.. that 4 dollars is really... nasty.
Is XM worth it to you guys? I just began using it 12 days ago. I mostly listen to country and i guess the update stuff like KissFM, pop etc. that my brother keeps on playing. I personally am not impressed with the playlist they play.

I look forward to the merger of the two companies coming to fruition. Whether they will be able to successfully integrate their combined channels is up in the air for now. But in the end if it does not occur, I'm not complaining.

I listen to mostly country. My favs are 11, 16, and 17. I also listen to some mix channels and Top 30. I love George Strait, but I will be happen to have all of my channels back.
I love XM...but there aren't many good stations in Alamogordo, NM

I personally am not impressed with the playlist they play.Definitely. Before I had it, I thought XM would be a waste of money. Not so. I now can heavy rock without commercials (41), raw uncut comedy (150), country (11 & 16). My mother saw my new car this weekend, so I put on the 60's channel for her. There are WAY more channels that I will NEVER listen to, but that's ok. The day they come out with a 10 channel package, I'll be the first one to sign up.
Saying that, I am not happy that I get commercials on 11 & 150.... I pay for commercials? :thumbsdow:thumbsdow:thumbsdow:thumbsdow:thumbsdow "You are listening to the Geico Music hour..... "...Complete bullshit.
but will I pay for it: YEPPERS!

I am in my vehicle a bit and I use the XM online feature at work. Also, DirecTv has XM radio so it is nice to be able to have continuity.
It sounds like even 77 a year is wasteful for you. I would go w/ the Ipod as that is a better investment for you.

the 77/year is a great deal, I would have to confess. I am just trying to find one good reason to keep this XM lol. (I jsut brought the in ipod idea since everyone has one now a days lol). I didn't know that XM has an online feature, is that part of the plan when I order XM?

The online radio is free to subscribers. I like it as there are no commercials and I don't like messing with playlists in the truck.
Just like cell phones are dangerous in cars and probably should be illegal w/o handsfree devices, I think Ipods are pretty dangerous to. I don't like messin' with mine so I pay XM to mess with it for me.
I like the service, hate commercials/Djs, and feel it is much safer than the Ipod.

I'm not sure what's so dangerous about an iPod. I set it to shuffle and never touch it again. In the immortal words of Ron Popeil, set it and forget it...frankly, the sound coming from my iPod is worlds better than any other source in my Accord. The EQ settings really make a difference.

Most people do not do that. I know I've seen many of my friends trying to select new playlists, skip songs, for find different artists...all while driving.
I'm not a fan of messing with that stuff while driving.
