if you're in the market for the 8G Accord, you might want to tell them it's a deal! then see whether they honor their email...

Are you sure this isn't a demo? Were talking 5-spd manual right?
SO you know Nardy Honda (Smithtown) is advertising the EX-L Auto sedan at Invoice (24,063.)

When I purchased my Acccord, the advertisement was an EX-L -I4 for $21,888 (before TTL). Printed up the advertisement, brought it to the dealer, and that is the price my Accord was sold to me. So, yes, there are deals to be found.

Pretty much any high-volume dealer is going to have its fair share of complaints. However, if the customer is well prepared, has done his/her homework, knows what they want, brings any advertisements, etc. with them,"sticks to their guns", and is able to cut through the bull - they should do alright.

is there a site that shows all dealers ranked by volume / customer dissatisfaction?

the sales rep told me hillside honda = #10 dealer out of the WHOLE COUNTRY in terms of volume

its not hard to believe cause their dealership is REALLY nice... but i would like some proof still :)

Sales volume is pretty meaningless considering its in a high population area.

Nardy in Smithtown won the "President's Award" for 2007 for excellence in customer satisfaction.
Huntington Honda claims to be a high volume seller.

Try Henry Schwartz at Nardy for a quote. I met with him 2 weeks ago and I straight out asked, will you sell me an Accord at Invoice if you have it on the lot? His answer YES. My problem is I feel I was low-balled on my trade-in.

Just wanted to comment on this consumer affairs website.

80% of the posts under the Honda section sound like they're from a bunch of idiots who don't know shit about buying, selling, leasing etc. Or people that have bad dealers.

I hope nobody looks to that site for advice when searching for a car. It's not credible information in the slightest way.

is this a bad way to approach dealers in general?

Try Open Road Honda in Edison, NJ. Purchased my V6 EX-L 6-Speed with 12 miles on the odometer for $25,075 with instaquote in the middle of March. Not sure if the same pricing still applies.

No, it isn't. I over-simplyfied it. I had been emailing 3 dealers. Let them know what I wanted (Accord sedan EX-L 4cyl) and asked where they stood with pricing. Early on when the 08s came out they let me know they could not budge from MSRP; by December one had come down to Invoice +4%; by the end of January another quoted Invoice +2%. Nardy had advertised the EX-L Auto sedan at Invoice ($24,063.) which led me to start my negotiations with him in that manner. I wanted to make sure he didn't have "one demo" available at that price.

Doubt it's a typo. If they're truly having a clearance sale, then that sounds right. Remember, dealers pay quite a bit below invoice... so they're still making money even if they sell the car at invoice.

Wait a couple of months when the '09's start hitting the lots, when there's factory-to-dealer incentives, etc...... and you'll be able to pick one up for $1-$2K below invoice.

Could be a demo or program car.
