Noob question about noise coming from engine bay

When I turn the blower on, I can hear something periodically "ramping up" in the engine bay. It's stops and starts at regular intervals it seems unless I turn the fan off completely.

I've never heard that before in any other vehicles I've had, is it normal?

Likely the cycling of the AC. This vechicle cycles the AC on/off quite often (once every 20 seconds or so). When you are stopped with the radio off, you can definitely notice it.

What model Accord do you have? If its and EX or EX-L you may be hearing the A/C compressor as part of auto climate control.
