Just picked up my EX-L yesterday. What a nice ride. Only thing that is messed up is that I can only get 3 XM Radio stations. Called XM and they said I wasn't activated? According to XM, the dealer has to activate it on my behalf - however dealer doesn't seem to think so. Who is right?

Wierd.. When I did the test drive on mine it worked... Then when I bought the car II got a note in the mail from XM saying the date I bought the car and the date the trial would expire.. The dealer had set it up... I believe XM is correct.. Its a dealer issue..

The dealer activated my XM on my vette and accord. However the XM rep should have offered to walk you through the prodedure. It's very easy. I believe the steps are published on the XM web site.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes once you start.

i work for XM the process is as follows
on an oem equiped radio that is elligible for a 3 month free trial honda does in deed have to set the plan up themselves they can contact there local xm representitive
most of the time there back office activates the radio themselves so the dealer never knows the real process.
but if it is a brand new car with an oem xm radio the dealer can set you up on a 3 month trial of the service
if there back office already handled it then it can take up too about 4 days to come up on our system
to double check if it is working just go to http://www.xmradio.com/refresh/index.xmc
and type in your radio id if it comes back succesful place the radio on channell 1 for 15 to 20 min and you will get your free trial
if not call the dealership again

Thanks guys - this all makes sense now. Clearly the dealer didn't do their piece. I have emailed the dealer my radio code and hopefully they will get it running today. Otherwise very very happy with purchase. I was nervous about some of the issues people had such as flickering lights, road noise etc. None of this present with my new ride - just love it. For a $30k CDN car, it is an absolutely fantastic value.

Everythign fixed. Just had to go to the "refresh" web page on XMRadio.ca. Put my radio code in, went to the car and 5 minutes later I had everything. Seems pretty neat (never had satelite radio before). Some of the stations seem a bit "tin"y. Certainly not CD quality.

Yeah, I agree with you on the quality. I got XM for my other car a few years back and canceled it just because it sounded like ass. The only thing I liked about XM was finding new music.

Agreed. Plus, you get to hear all the songs you once liked, but had not heard for years.

To the OP, congratulations on your new Accord.

Mike.
