Guys - I have had a EX-L I4 sedan for the last three days. All I can say is this car exceeds expectations all round. For a 30k CDN car, it is a stellar value. No wonder they are having troubles moving Acura product as this product is quite close. I have owned a Lexus in the past and the fit/finish/feel on this one is very close . I tried the Camry and Altima before making the choice and this has them beat hands down:

- Fantastic feel for the road (some complain it is harsh but I love it - i don't mind hearing the road a bit as well - If i didn't want to hear the road, i'd buy a caddy or lexus)
- Smooth I4 with punch when you need it
- Great stereo system - clean sound, nice heads up display keeps my eyes on the road
- Top notch leather and seating (much better seats then in my old IS300)
- Tons of interior room (i can stick three car seats in the back!)
- Looks much more expensive then it is - not your old bland accord
- Nicely laid out storage/arm rest - makes for great driving position
- Mileage - still on first tank so not sure yet but on my long highway cruise the needle hardly moved
- Safety, Safety - can't get many more safety features then they added to this car
- Price - picked mine up just outside of Toronto for $300 over invoice w/ 3.0% lease rate which is fantastic for a new model year (must have been a slow day). B/c of high residual on the accords, this car was signifcantly cheaper then Camry and Altima from a pure lease payment perspective.

There are some areas where they skimped like the trunk liner, smaller battery, small spare tire etc but this doesn't bother me too much. I guess weight savings was a key factor in some of those things. I have also been fortunate not to be bothered by the flickering lights (hardly noticeable if at all) and road noise that some complain about.

All in all very pleased. If anybody in the Toronto area wants to get a great deal, drop me a line and i'll refer you to my dealer. Thank you all in this forum for you excellent posts/feedback - reading this forum helped clinch the deal for me.

Congrats!

I just joined the Accord club, too. Came from a 99 Nissan Altima. I would have gone with Nissan again because my car treated me right, but the Accord Coupe caught my eye and I never looked back.

It seems to be easy to get these cars for just over invoice now.

I can attest that the I-4 EX-L is a stellar value (especially with the 5MT). I put 5 000km in my SMR Coupe and there are very few times it's left me longing for the V6. (Though it would have been niiiiice). And she's beauuutiful!!!

Well I just ended my BMW 330i Lease and bought a EX-L V6 Navi Coupe. It is far better than the BWM in many ways. I belive it is even faster. The interior is way better looking than the BMW and all the controls feel GREAT! I didn't have that feeling with BWM. Also, people are looking at the car more than my old BWM so I'm very happy to be driving it!!!!

Yeah, way hotter than the BMW Coupe. My next door neighbor has the Beemer coupe and saw mine and was drooling.

His BWM has feaures like an auto seat belt extender, air conditioned center consul, and run flats tires. So sad.

I have Navigation, Bluetooth Phone, Voice Command of A/C, Radio etc.
I feel sorry for the poor sucker!!!

You're right, however, at the end of the day, he's still driving a BMW, and you're still driving a Honda. Two different beasts, can't compare them like that. :)

There are some areas where they skimped like the trunk liner

I also have the EX-L I4 and wasn't crazy abou the missing trunk lid liner. So I ordered the liner from collegehillshonda.com and installed it yesterday. It cost about $50, took maybe 10 minutes to install (following the instructions provided by the really convenient and well put together WMV video, and I'm so glad that I did. I also ordered and installed the Homelink unit. It's great and tooka little longer to install, but I couldn't be any happier with it. You should take a look at their site.
Next I'm getting the 9 spoke, 18" chrome-look aluminum wheels. Quite a bit more expensive, especially since I'll have to get tires too, but I think the car will look great.
I also have an appointment this Friday to get the windows tinted with a ceramic film and have LLumar's paint protection film installed on the bumper, hood, headlights, mirrors, and posts. Then I'll be done....maybe.

I hear the 3.5 V6 6 speed is a monster. Man I would love to have that engine. Jealousy.

You are correct, two different cars indeed; IMO one that says I'm smart, sexy and broke, and the other says I'm smart, sexy and carry less debt. LOL

I'd heavily considered a new 3 series or pre-owned (new gen) 5 before buying the coupe and for me, having driven the benzes that my boss owns for weeks at a time I see a distinct change in my attitude when driving a 60k+ auto and I didn't like feeling "superior" to others (or increasing the likelihood of getting robbed or car jacked).

I may work harder, save more, deliver more compassion, and care more than others but regardless of how much $$ I have or what I drive I will never be better than anyone else.

To each his own

More I drive this car the better it gets. Even throwing it around corners it impresses for such a big sedan. My only concern at this point is getting close to the advertised fuel economy. Right now my first tank is worse then my v6 highlander. Still very early in break-in..

Don't worry. I have the V6, but had the same concerns on my first 2 fill ups. Now finally on my third tank I seem to be seeing a big increase in mileage. It'll get there, just need to get the engine broken in a little.
