So, I've got a clear bra, and it seems to be a magnet for pollen. The day after a wash, it was pretty covered, and much dirtier than the paint (it was a very windy day and the pollen count was high). Is this typical?

My car is scheduled to have a clear bra applied this Friday, 4/18. I'm glad to see that you asked this question and look forward to reading any replies that you receive.

What type of film did you have installed? I'm going to be getting Llumar, though I really am fence sitting - I've heard a lot of positive things about the newest 3M product. My car is white and I'm concerned that the Llumar film may show some discoloration becuase of the adhesive.

Can you tell me a little more about your film - was it a kit or did they wrap the car? If a kit, are the seams noticeble? Any other concerns, gripes or praises.

Anybody else have any information about Llumar ppf vs. 3M?

Thanks.

I noticed the same thing. I don't know if it's the material or not, but my clear bra was GREENISH-YELLOW! :thumbsdow

Anyway, another wash seems to do the trick - tis the season (for pollen).

I have 3M. My car is black, and I really cant tell its there (when clean) unless I'm up close. Also, no one has noticed it until I point it out to them (even when kinda dirty). I had always considered getting it but was never really ready to shell out for something I was skeptical about, but it was preinstalled and I am now extremely happy with it. I will prob be getting it in the future (assuming I have the kind of vehicle that I deem "worthy").

As for greenish yellow, you mean the film itself? Im pretty sure thats not normal. Mine just has an orangish coat of dust, easily cleaned off, but makes it look like I dipped the front end in orange powder. Im guessing its due to a static type property not affecting the paint, or the difference in surface hardness between the film and paint.

:dunno:...maybe try rubbing a dryer sheet on the clear bra. It might help with the static attraction with the pollen.:dunno:

Rofl...i have no idea if that has anything to do with it or not, just hypothesizing...would give my care a spring fresh front end at least, so thats a plus...

You'd look a little odd sniffing the front end of your car though...

I have 3M Clear Bra on Silver and it doesn't seem to attract any more or less dirt/pollen than the rest of the car's finish.

Have you tried spraying a coat of Plexus on your clear bra? Maybe that'll help

No, but reading after researching it that looks to be the perfect stuff
Thanks
Any idea if this is the type of thing you might find locally somewhere?

You can find Plexus in most motorcycle shops or online. This is what my installer recommended :)

You can also try out the Meguiars PlastX plastic cleaner. I heard this is more abrasive than Plexus because the PlastX is sort of like a polisher/cleaner for plastics (not 100% sure about this).

Better pollen, which can be dusted off than rock chips, which can't.

Id suggest Honda Spray Polish. Its available at any Honda motorcycle dealer and it works a lot better than Plexis. I buy it by the case now.

Curiosity, what makes it better?

Its a little thicker but comes off a lot easier with less streaking... I've used everything as far as plastic cleaners go and it's the best. At only $5 a can its pretty cheap too.... I mainly use it on my motorcycles but it works fantastic on any plastic parts.
