What do you guys think of the new TSX? Personally i think it looks kinda weird like a saturn, also the Interior looks just like the 8th gen accord with minor changes.

The first generation Acura TSX received glowing reviews from the media and owners alike. While not having the most exciting styling or the beefiest of powertrains, the TSX offered a sensible and reliable vehicle with plenty of standard options that didn't break the bank. Our man Damon road-tripped a 2007 TSX up to Lake Tahoe and was pleasantly surprised with the driving characteristics and smooth powertrain, although he put Acura's turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-4 on the wish list.

With Acura launching an all-new TSX in 2009, we've been itching to see what direction they would go with the second generation. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait long to find out because Acura invited us to test the new TSX just a few weeks before officially launching the car at the New York Auto Show.

Well, that shift knob looks almost the same as the one in the 7th Gen Accord 6MT knob, and we will soon hear about the hot/cold complaints, hopefully it's just as easily replaced with the TL shift knob for those who live in hot and cold climates.

The 6MT and the Japan quality make the car worth the money in my book.

I don't like the 8th gen....otherwise the 190 Horse 5MT would probably be a better value, but the TSX was always a quality and for the most part, rattle free car.

This would be the car that would get me back into the Honda family....and probably the only car. (Not for at least 4 years though)

Ummm, I'm kinda disappointed w/ H/A's lack of creativity w/ the interior. Don't get me wrong, I luv my coupe's interior.

If I'm going to spring the xtra cheddar on an A then I want originality and differential (read; motivation to pay the extra wom pom).

I dunno H/A's history w/ interior swapping, being new to H and all, so I speak w/ lil experience....

Yes yes yes, there's the savings which comes w/ sharing parts n deszyn...

IMO it's un-impressive for H's "luxury" line - SHOW ME THE MONEY

The motor doesnt leave me impressed for a car almost 30k. You gotta turbo it or a small V6.

There is an '09 TSX thread going in the other forum:

I won't rehash my comments here since they are already there. :)

I like it. If I'm looking for a 4 door in a couple of years, I'd hit it with tech package ~$32K.

It's entry level. It's getting the Acura name at an Accord-like price.

Check The Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Mercedes Benz C-Class etc's standard features. They don't compare. - Obviously, if you're in it for the driving experience, you'd go for the BMW, but Acura's purpose is value. That's what they started with and that's what they're still continuing on with.

As for originality with the interior. The TSX's interior is far more 'creative' than the Accords... the little details left and right are obvious from the get go.

Since when is any main stream car original anyways? Isn't it safe to say that we find styling cues all over the place from various other cars and trucks? The ONLY original vehicles I've seen in the past 10 years are the VW Bug, Mini Cooper, Honda Insight, and Toyota Prius.

i dont know about the designs.. but i all acura/honda designs start to grow on you more and more you see it so... but i dont like the backend.. the front end is starting to grow on me though...
but TSX has got all the things accord has and then some.. those things that we all want in our accord, TSX got it..!!
memory seats, HID, intergrated IPOD built in to NAVI, turn signal builtin to the side mirrors... etc.. etc.. i know those aren't the necessities but sure would like to have them and would pay a little more for those!!...

and that's where the marketing comes in.. when people are shopping for a new accord.. they will find out with little bit more money you can get more from the TSX than the accord...
either way.. honda makes the $$$!!!

what is the point of this car again? is it just supposed to be a luxury car at a low price?

i mean it has 6 MT as an option, but I thought I read in my car and driver that it comes with like 210 horsepower and makes 0-60 in like 7 seconds...

so i guess the point of it is to not be a sports car?

It's not a sports car. It's a more luxurious version of the Accord that is smaller, handles better, is quieter and has better materials throughout. It's much more entertaining to drive.

This new TSX offers features the Accord can't touch like GPS linked climate control, the ELS sound system that looks to be the same as the one in the TL (it's a great system), better seats with perforated leather and increased side bolstering. I believe it even has seat memory.

I think this car will appeal to many Gen7 Accord owners who can't stomach the new Accord Sedan. The TSX is a very rewarding car to drive, and it was praised left and right upon its introduction in 2003 as an 04 model.

Not everything is about 0-60 times (average person takes over 11 seconds to get to 60 in day to day driving). This car will out handle/drive your Accord any given day, I'm sure.

Accords with NAVI have had GPS linked climate control since 2006, possibly 2003.

heh, i think it probably takes me longer than 11 seconds to get to 60. if i took 11 seconds i'd be wasting gas.

i was criticising the car i just wondered outloud if anyone would car about a car that has all the goods EXCEPT the power.

personally if i could afford that i'd get a faster car but that is just me. i was asking a question to look for the market of people who actually don't care about speed. to be honest i thought luxury cars ALWAYS throw that in to complete the package, like i thought cadillacs have like 300 hp and are always fast even if they can't handle. i guess one major thing i was wondering was is this the only slow luxury car out there or are there others?

i guess it shows how much i don't know about luxury cars yet. i'm 22. sorry for asking a stupid question. don't bite my head off plz.

The Lexus IS250 is known to be kind of slow...but at least that has some style IMO :naughty:

 Woo hoo, over here! I HATE the 8th gen sedan and the TSX is the perfect option for me because, while I like coupes and am considering owning one, I like sporty sedans a little better. If the 8th gen sedan looked better and was smaller, I would've picked one up in a heartbeat...I can't even tell you how disappointed I was the first time I saw one in person. :(

I don't need a sedan mind you, but I do love the convenience and practicality of them...a sporty sedan for me is the perfect combo. Also, sedans just look more "balanced" to me, and I am a big symmetry nut LOL

IMO the TSX does what it does very well: it's smaller and sporty, has a lot of bang for the buck, etc. Some people don't need a car the TL's size (which unfortunately, looks like is now going to be like the Accord sedan and overly BIG) and don't want the price tag that comes w/ the TL either. The TSX is also GREAT for us urban dwellers, as it is small and nimble and fits into rather tight spaces.

RE: the power, even though the HP numbers are down a few ticks, the torque went up...it will feel faster.

I'm happy to see they kept the pricing of this new model realistic. There is not a doubt in my mind that I could very soon pick one up at the same price we got my g/f's brand new one last year (below invoice) or damn close to it, and that is a VERY attractive thing for me right now...I am considering my first new car purchase and love the Honda/Acura brand, but not into the 8th gen Accord at all. Also, the TSX/Acuras hold their value extremely well and always a smart buy.

One thing that does concern me, though, is the gas mileage. For a smaller car, there are better options and/or you can step up into a car w/ a V6, more power and get about the same mileage. Also, it's getting harder for people to justify lower city gas mileage AND having to put Premium in the tank.

All in all I am excited, and can't wait to see one in person and take it out for a spin. If I do buy one, it would be cool to have a his ('09 body style) and hers ('07) parked next to each other. ;)

LOL, I'm in the communications and marketing biz so I like to use fun words that make people think.

I wouldn't spend my money on this car...luxury maybe, but I gotta admit, its downright hideous (in my eyes). Kudos to the guy that added the extra buttons on the interior, I wish they were available for the accord as well.
