Any feedback on advantages and disadvantages using electromagnetic sensor compared to the ultrasound?

I hope this backup sensor works the same way as those ultrasound sensors

Any feedback on advantages and disadvantages using electromagnetic sensor compared to the ultrasound?

I'm not sure how a true electromagnet could sense anything but metal, so if someone could explain that, I would be impressed. An ultrasound(measuring the time between sound waves) seems more complicated to rig up (more equipment) but far more universal and accurate.

agreed, this product seems bunk (unless the manufacturer uses incorrect terminology, which is unassuring on its own)

the product costs only $39-59 dollars,,, what wants me to get this product is the no drill and wires are mostly hidden behind the bumper.

Here is one website which is discusses these type of product. I just dont read from there that these detects non metal objects but it does mention placing the sensors above a certain height so it wont detect the ground as an obstacle, well it sure is a non metal

hey if it works, thats great, but it must be using something more than pure electromagnetic sensing
be careful with the periphery areas though, as this looks to be a single sensor that would seem to only react to the central area of the bumper

the tape sensor runs almost end to end of the bumper so it covers a wide area. Finally i found the answer if this detects non-metal like humans,,,,,

Using tried & tested electromagnetic technology the Taurus T123 car parking sensor, compatible with any car make and model, and fully compatible in all conditions, will sense any object, person or car located behind your vehicle and will provide you with an early warning so you can avoid all potential collisions.

i guess im thinking in too narrow of a sense of electromagnetics, as this can describe a vast array of radio waves and such, let us know how it works, cuz that is cheap

just look up the backup sensors from directed electronics.. the manufacturer of viper alarms... the kit is like 90.00 I have installed them on my mom's new altime, and my other 08 accord coupe before the dealer had to give me a new one 3 weeks after I bought it.. I loved them and plan to put another set on this car... The install is also a no brainer as well...

Yeah, that's not an electromagnet at all. That uses a single-wire antenna, so it must be radio proximity. And high-tech my rear, that technology has been used since the 40's in proximity fuzes

My honda dealer wont install this backup sensor cause its not an OEM Honda Backup sensor. So I guess I just have to keep my backup sensor on the shelve aheheheh! Or might as well resell this one!
