What do you all think about getting the stock 17" rims on an EX-L sedan chromed through a company like OEMRIMS, Inc.? They have a store on ebay and they offer this service in exchange for your existing alloys for about $707 out the door, including shipping both ways. The OE rims are actually pretty nice looking. I just don't like the grey alloy color on a pearl car that has chrome door handles, window trim, grill, etc.
They use a triple plate process just like all other quality aftermarket rims and the plating comes with a 3 year warranty like most aftermarket rims. I was thinking about going with 18s, however every time I replace tires it will cost me an extra $400. Considering I keep cars about 15 years that adds up and is just not worth it.

The only issue I see with chroming the stock wheels on the 08 sedans is that they have a lot of shape to them and are heavily styled. Chrome in all those angles might look kinda funky. Are there any pics of one that's been done already?
In my experience, chrome just looks better on a more flat wheel surface.

I simply bought Honda's chrome ones. Do they sell them in your car's size? I have had NO issues with the chrome flaking, peeling or anything.
I do agree that the chrome handles beg for other chrome pieces!
When I see black or dark gray rims they look dirty....like they are covered in brake dust or something. I'm old though. I've seen many fads come & go....:D

If you look on the Honda site & build an Accord, there's an accessory option of chrome rims. I believe the '08s are 18".
"Our custom wheels undergo stringent testing to match the tough requirements of the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.), Japan Wheel Light metal (J.W. L.) and Honda
* Width-matched to fit the car precisely, ensuring proper clearance and handling characteristics
* Cast-in ribs give these wheels an unparalleled structural strength
* Clear coat finish over the front of the wheels helps to prevent corrosion and makes cleaning easier
* Offset matched and hub machined to properly coordinate with Honda's Vehicle Suspension Design – for a smooth ride – and to help ensure the longevity of wheel bearings, suspension joints and wheels
* Center cap stays snug and tight thanks to a positively engaged groove

The probelm is that the chrome 18s are at least 1,600 a set, plus an additional 1K for the tires, versus 700 for the chrome job and oe tires. $2,600versus $700. That is a big difference.

You wouldn't know it from their approval rating through ebay. They do not have one negative review.

i've been thinking about doing this exchange as well. I am going to wait a while to see if there is another company on the east coast that starts doing this. Nothing against OEM Chrome Rims or anything but the $233 shipping charges are outrageous.

People leave a review after they receive the product.. the issues I have heard of are with durability... long after the review is left
