Alright guys, as some of you may know, I got some new tires last week. I know about the maintenance part of the tire, but what about making them look their best? When can I be able to start dressing the tires or can I start now? Also, I'm using Eagle One's tire wet applied via Eagle One applicator. They work very well with my OEM michelins and I'm wondering if that would decrease the logevity of the tire. Since I don't have the time to scoll through the countless pages on autopia and been out of the detailing loop for a good two years so any advise would be great! Thanks!

Essentially there are two types, water based and silicone based. It is said the the water based types (like Poorboy's Bold & Bright) are more "friendly" to the rubber than silicone based (like Stoner's More Shine).
In practice I've never seen any degredation of the rubber using a silicone based dressing. If you want top protection and a nice look go with Aerospace 303. It's not cheap but you use little and it also works well on the dash and other plastics so you get multiple uses from one product. It also has a high SPF (UV blocker) to protect the surfaces it is applied to.
When I get new tires I dress them as soon as I get home, there's no reason to wait that I'm aware of.

The wife got new tires on the Accord this weekend. I sprayed Wesleys on the tires and scrubbed off whatever was on it and applied the PB B&B to give them a nice, matte finish.

Dupont Teflon Tire Dressing is by far the best Ive used......in the other tire dressing thread you can see what my response to the product is.
Also, tires without some kind of dressing looks ashy and dull, like not putting lotion on your arms or legs ever. :dunno:
Do you ever shine your dress shoes??

I don't like my tires looking dull so that's why I love to dress them whenever I wash them. So Poorboy's then?? I'll look into it.

Surf City tire pro (water based = NO SLING).. My all time favorite dressing, it provides a deep/rich semi matte look and respectable durability
the price may be a little more tah others but the way I use it streches it out.. I get a foam applicator and give it 3 sprays for the 1st tire and 2 sprays for ethe rest.. VERY economical when you break it down to how many uses you get per bottle PLUS ALL Surf City products from surfcitygarage.com is FREE SHIPPING
