I've read about two in the past 24 hours............:paranoid:

And one of them is "anysia". Are Acuras really that much better? Maybe I better hurry and get one before they're all gone............:dunno::dunno:

Not me. I'm not trading for anything at this point.:paranoid:

If I had 55K, with nothing else to use it on, I would be buying a RL. I like the bells & whistles they have. The only real things I'd love to have are memory seats & real time NAV.

Is it better than my Accord? Nope. It's apples & oranges.

The grass is always greener....:D

Anysia has had a TSX for two years now. I believe that her main priority for dumping her Accord coupe was because it was previously wrecked and not repaired right, and she had a baby coming! Acuras and Hondas are one in the same. It's no different than trading your ford for a mercury if you ask me. It's all about what you need out of a car.

Obviously, if people were having issues with their Hondas, they probably wouldn't be trading in for what you could call an even more expensive Honda.

Depends on what you think "nicer" is. Checkout an auto show or an Acura dealership to get a feel of the vehicles. They're two different car brands with different goals and they're aimed toward different buyer groups.

Wow! 2 in the past 24 hrs. That's out of how many Honda owners? Lets get real. Some folks will never be happy with there choice and some always feel the need to switch cars. I have owned both products and will always feel Honda is the smarter buy. Until Acura truly becomes a Tier 1 product they won't get my hard earned $$$

Both Makes are fundamentally the same - except that the trim levels and features are different. Take the Civic and the RSX - virtually the same car - but upgrades to trim and other features. Sort of like buying a Mercury over a Ford. My biggest problem with Honda is that if you wanted certain features (like memory seats, or power passenger seat) you HAD to move to Acura to get them. So to many the Honda trim line is fine - but for others, the features (or even a particular target model) are the draw. But both are made by/for American Honda, so it's not a big deal.

If I remember correctly, though, Stevel traded HIS accord towards the RDX. Anysia did her accord coupe (aka "crooked accord") for the TSX a while back.

The things people worry about... :lmao: Deep breaths - we're all on the same team. Look - they could have been like me and traded a Honda for a Mercury!!!

the Acuras just have more features that are of value to me. the HID headlights, the ELS sound, the SH AWD, the longer warranty, etc etc. If my accord had even the headlights and a decent stereo, I would have been far more inclined to keep it. yes, I value those features, but feel no need for push button start or automatic headlights, turning switches isn't that hard. but visibility at night is important to me and the accord did not cut it.

those are my main influences in changing to the acura.

The Acuras ARE nicer.......no need for people to forget that. Its like a Toyota to a Lexus or a Nissan to Infiniti.

Not any more or less dependable.... just nicer bells & whistles.

I'm not about to start ANY car payments at this point myself. I'd need to have the cash in hand. The chances of that are slim to none! I rarely even remember to play the lotto!!:lmao:

But if I did.... the RL tec version would be my choice. In white.

Until then, my Accord is my choice. It was when I bought it & I haven't seen anything that has tempted me towards another one... newer one. :)

Now that buying of a Mercury...... shame all over Andy!!!:lmao:

I when from Acura's to Honda's. Had a 2001 CL-S, 2003 TL-S and then a 2005 MDX. I liked the MDX the best, but when gas started to go north, I got a 2006 Accord EX-L and now my 2008 EX-L V6.

Alot of cars within 8 years, but I really, really like the new Accord. I love the value and stuff you get in this car. Sure, I miss the HID's and memory seating, but that's about all. Honda was the number 1 selling car in March, so they have to be doing something right.

For me, I think this car has the right size, the right looks, and the most value of many cars out their. You all may not agree with that, but that's my take.

well...i always thought of acuras as a glamours hondas...i wouldnt trade my car at all...unless extremely necessary...i test drove the acura TL...like the 'extra' luxury level...but the drive felt almost like a honda...just bit more hyper...just a bit...

i definitely don't view it as a bad thing.... it means people are impressed enough with honda to spend even more money on a car manufactured by them! it means people like the brand enough to step up to the next level. acura is to honda as lexus is to toyota and as infinity is to nissan (as someone else mentioned). now if we strayed from honda to lexus, then maybe worry. :lmao: we did test drive a lexus during stevel's little " i NEED a new car phase" (which he hits ALOT.....) he liked the seats. beyond that? eh, didn't really have anything to offer over an acura and the cost was a bit higher. the acuras had their positives over the lexus' as well.

yep, everyone got mine right, i traded my crooked accord coupe (9k+ in accident damage from being hit on the highway when it was 5 months old...) in on the tsx in oct 06. we also had a newborn at the time and i was getting ticked that no matter how far away from other cars we parked, i'd always come out to find someone parked on top of my passenger side making it virtually impossible to get an infant seat into the back seat since the coupe door needs to open pretty far to do so. a sedan was a must have at the time. stevel had his accord sedan. i test drove a civic sedan. i considered a4cyl accord sedan, but it ultimately came down to i just loved driving the tsx AND they gave me way more than i expected on my accord trade in wise. (it went from 13000 value about 6 months prior to 14000 when i traded it. i owed 10400.)

stevel has gone from honda civic to accord sedan, to accord coupe, to tl, to accord sedan, now back to acura, this time an rdx. (and many more things prior to that list.... those were the "since 2003" grouping....) he's all over the place at times. he almost traded the accord in on the lexus cause he liked the seats (and awd & headlights), a mazda speed 3 because he liked the ability to get power, handling, and headlights for cheap (sans the luxury & refinement of even an accord or civic though), and tried to find ways to get numerous used tl's, a used odyssey, considered cheaper vehicles to save up some cash for awhile (crv & civic), and who knows what else he's had his eyes on that i don't even know about. :lmao: so, in other words, be happy he ended up with the acura. :lmao:

gosh, we've been to so many dealers and test driven so many things over the past few months (and thats not including what stevel drives at his work either!). i consider it a good thing that in the end he got the deal he needed and got the vehicle he wanted and it was an acura, not a lexus or mazda or chevy or toyota or anything.

Ok, I've got it now. The answer would be up to the individual by all means. The brand has no models to offer me so I would not be a candidate but I can certainly see why many step up to the Acura. A definite upgrade from Honda.
