Yup! The big 10k. Except for a few annoying rattles, the car feels the same as the day I drove it off the lot. (1/20/07)

So what should I do now? I'm going to call to schedule some time with a local Honda mechanic so he can change the transmission fluid for me. Should I have anything else done? I'm tempted to replace the engine and interior air filters and stuff. All that's been done so far: tire rotations, oil changes. (All done at home).

Sorry about the quality, the picture was taken in my schools parking lot with my phone. :)

10k is very soon for anything really.

Tire Rotation would be the only thing I can think of, along with a new air filter. Are you following the maintenance minder? Next time it says to get the oil done (assuming you haven't just done it recently) have the tires rotated and the air filter changed.

I'd do the trans fluid at 20-30k, not 10k. But there's no harm in it. - Make sure that honda mechanic uses Honda fluid or else you could be up shit creek.

I'm kind of following the maintenance minder. I've been changing the oil when the minder hit "oil life 50%" (or every 2500miles, whichever came first), and just switched (when the car hit 8000miles) to fully synthetic, so I'll be following the maintenance minder now.

Is $19.79 a good deal on the engine air filter? :)

The ones at the auto parts stores are good. Purolator is what I use (blue and grey box). My Accord's filter is about $14, so I suppose that is decent.

I think I may grab a few things from HandAaccessories. But I'll keep that price in mind. Thankies. :)

"the car feels the same as the day I drove it off the lot" I would hope so. My 96 with 180k felt the same way the day I traded it in last year. How long did you expect it to feel that way? You must have been driving domestics before this.

"So what should I do now?" Um, drive more before you do anything else.

"I'm going to call to schedule some time with a local Honda mechanic..." Sounds like your needing therapy. 10k miles is not enough that you should need to "schedule time" with your mechanic.

"Should I have anything else done?" See above - DRIVE IT MORE.

"All that's been done so far: tire rotations, oil changes." RotationS and changeS? If your following the MM, there should have been one oil change and the tire rotation is when you get a letter with it. Can't remember if it's A or B but it's usually about every other MM which you would not have seen yet.

$19.79 is extremely expensive for a 10k mile change.

"So what should I do now?" Please check in with your family, they probably think you left them for your car.

Actually, I am glad you're enjoying the car, but really, it does not need anything at $10,000 miles. If there's something wrong with your tranny, have them change the fluid under warranty. There really is no reason to pay to have it changed.

Haha. No, I think the tires were rotated once. Oil changes? A few. Everything seems perfect with the car... and no, I haven't left them. lol :paranoid:

I'll check the air filter before I replace it. I've been driving in some nasty areas (dusty because of construction) for about a year now. But really, I suppose I made it sound worse than it is.. It doesn't need anything but a few mods.

I suggest the air filter even if its just a little dark. It's a cheap way to keep MPG's up!
