We just had a bad tornado this past week and a 2008 Honda Accord feel victim as well:

OUCH!! That left a mark. Even set off the side curtain air bags!

poor PMM ... had it been a V6, it would have weathered the tornado/storm just fine ;)

I guess they don't test the cars at the Honda Real World Crash Test Facility for tornados. Maybe they should crank up the wind tunnel testing a bit.

I am sure they were fully covered, but you never know when it comes to acts of nature. Hopefully they will be getting a new car!

The car had to have been on, so people may have been inside. Side airbags won't deploy unless the car is on or the key is to the on position.

Also notice that the moonroof is open... not sure how a tornado would do that.

If you look closely I think the sunroof glass is broken, the edge lines seem a bit irregular.

I'm not sure... it is definitely hard to tell from that picture. To me, it looks like it's open... as you can see part of the moonroof sticking out (since it doesn't slide completely back).

Also, now that I look at it, is that really the side curtain airbags? It kind of looks like someone put a tarp on the inside... maybe to keep the inside of the car from getting wet? Maybe the owner thinks that the car can be fixed, so they wanted to preserve the interior. :dunno: Plus, the windshield wipers were on.

Maybe the person was driving along... saw the tornado... jumped out of their car to find shelter and left it running.
