I am posting this here because I haven't seen much talk about the 08 in the audio forum but have read everything available on the subject in this forum.
I have an 08 V6 5AT EX-L Coupe (premium (ha ha) sound system). I listen to 80's hair metal (graduated HS in 89 so Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Def Leppard etc. have poisoned my brain). I like it loud enough to feel punchy base (my truck has 2 rockford 8" stage 2 subs and a Punch 400 amp for example)
Is there a way to keep the stock head unit and add a sound processer, amp, subs and all new speakers and not have to have any type of separate volume knob for the subs and be able to control everything from the HU without losing sub volume at higher volumes? I will purchase whatever sound processer it takes. So far I have learned about disconnecting the ANC mics etc but am confused about the whole sub volume thing. I have done several complete systems on my own but always with a new head unit. Also, is anyone like Q-logic making a nice sub box that fits in the trunk for the coupe?
The rockford fosgate site sends me to a company that I can purchase all the install info needed to do any car (it claims)...anybody have any experience with what is available for the 08 that will explain everything I need?
Sorry for being so long winded.
