Hey guys, so yesterday i got my subs installed at a local shop here, but before i even got home it stop working... Theres no LED light on the amp so i dont know if the amp stop working or if its the subs. Is it possible to blow a sub? the sub is a Memphis 12'' PR. and the Amp is a Pioneer 800w Mono Block Amp.

Could just be a connection that came loose or a blown fuse. Either way it's their problem to diagnose and repair it.

^ agreed. Sounds like either a fuse blew or the power or ground wire came loose since the amp isn't turning on. Shouldn't be a problem with the sub.

Hey thanks for the help guys, i took it back to the shop and we kinda already knew the problem was cause of the sub, the problem was we wired it up to be a dual 4ohm instead of a single 2ohm and it ****ed it up but now its working and sounds awesome except the brake light. i gotta add some cushion cause it rattles like a BIT(H!!

That makes no sense what so ever... O think the shop is not telling you the whole story.. did the wire it in series? or parallel? and to 2 ohm or 4 coause most amps can have 2 4 ohm loads and then the amp see's 1/2 the resistance..... something isnt right...

well I will speak my peace on this one for you " I could care less is about the most ignorant thing I think ive heard on this site... It sounds as though they wired your sub to 1 ohm basically they screwed up! by wiring the amp to one ohm they cooked your amp and over heated it into protection and shut down. you need to demand a new one fresh from the box... when you over heat an amp due to the low ohm's load, you have risked baking the circuit board, the resistors, and way shorten the life on the outputs.. not to mention over driving the power supply.. but hey.. Its your money and your car... Im only in and around the industry for 20 years.. what do I know..... Just trying to give you good advice!
