A friend of mine has a 96 civic and it bugs me that the previous owner painted the interior and did such a crappy job!
I always tell him to somehow remove the paint or just replace the interior!
But now i am just to the point where I want to just help him out and do it

So i've heard it before where you can use some sort of paint removal but it requires alot of work (especially if its almost the entire interior)
Im not exactly sure but does anyone know of a method to do this?

Otherewise im leaning more towards just going to junkyard or somewhere to replace the interior

Mineral Spirits are said to not damage plastic, and still remove paint. I haven't personally experienced this, just hearsay. If it is chipping already, is it something you could hit with a powerwasher? Might be just enough to chip off the paint and leave the origional finish.

I would avoid sanding, unless you are repainting the pieces, and use a product such as BullDog, to help with adhearsion.

Good Luck!

Mineral spirits does not work for that.. that's why it's called paint thinner.

Acetone will remover "rattle can" paint but may damage the plastic. You'll also need plenty of ventilation and proper gloves, mask, etc.
