i know this isnt an audio forum but its an 08 coupe specific problem. so i got impatient waiting for a dash kit so i decided to swap the speakers out using the stock hu. well i used quick splice t-taps. here are the color codes left rear +yellow -brown right rear +blue - orange. so i spliced the left rear and plugged in the speaker.. seemed to work fine. so i went ahead and did the right rear also. went to power on the headunit and no output. the display was still working.. i could switch tracks, stations etc.. works fine. but NO OUTPUT :dunno: so i went to check the manual for a radio fuse. doesnt mention one. checked all the fuses i thought were radio fuses.. none burnt. even tore the dash apart to look behind the radio... no fuse. both of the speakers are 4ohm so it should work with the stock hu. can anyone chime in and help? id go crazy without music.

T-taps are crappy... Try to use a solid connection, like solderig, see if that help.

ok so i disconnected the rear 2 speakers and the audio returns. so my question is.. does anyone know if there is an actual factory amp on non premium versions? it makes no sense that the factory speakers work but the replacement 4ohm speakers dont.

sounds like there is something crossing in the wires.. i would recommend against cutting the OEM cables.. go to metra's site and order the aftermarket kit plugs in to the oem plug and has wires on the other end for crimp terminals...

well then just be patient and wait for your HU. It will sound much better anyway
