View Full Version : Where to find 1996 Accord Coupe Body Side Molding Replacement?
pittpanther 05-12-2008, 10:54 AM Hello all - my Father has a 96 Accord Coupe EX (Forest Green color) in absolutely mint condition (he is the original owner). He is getting a bit older however, and recently scraped his passenger side rear body molding. He is seriously depressed about it, and I would like to replace it for him if possible. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to where I might be able to find a replacement for it?
Thanks!

I just noticed your username. I and all LSU fans will be eternally grateful to Pitt for knocking off WVU last season. :notworthy
That was one of the key games that allowed LSU to stumble into the BCS title game.
mpumas 05-13-2008, 10:12 PM Its going to have to be painted no matter where you get one. So whatever it costs add another $200. to the cost.

You can buy the molding painted.
If he's talking about the rocker panel at the bottom of the door, all 94-97 Accords have unpainted ones. It's the 'dent guards' on the door that came painted, and you can buy it painted.
You'll probably need the clips that hold it on as its near impossible to get the old ones out without breaking them or damaging the paint trying to protect them without the trim piece removal tool.

I am looking for the rear painted 'dent guard,' but have not been able to find it yet.

That Pitt victory single-handedly made my year... (I made a deal with God during the game that the Steelers could lose their remaining games if only the Panthers could overcome the Mountaineers and the officiating - he must have listened because the Steelers really tanked it at the end last year :)!) The win also had the ancillary benefit of starting the Civil War between Morgantown and Rich Rodriguez...

BTW - I went to grad school in Tuscaloosa, so I am guessing that Pitt victory is wiped out by Saban and my love (although not equal) for the Tide eh?

Did you not look on www.collegehillshondaparts.com ???
It's on there. I'll see if I can directly link it...
What color?
Accordlover 05-15-2008, 01:29 PM I'm unable to directly link it, but its under the link titled PROTECTOR once you input the information about the car.

For a LSU fan living in AL, yeah, I'd say that's about a wash. Saban will have The Tide back in the upper echelon by next season.

Thanks a bunch Accordlover! I am actually looking for the painted molding that is above that piece on the door itself.
On the new Accord, it is referred to as Body Side Molding:

Kel from College Hills emailed me back and said it was only available in unpainted black and that I would have to find it via Salvage now...
Accordlover 05-16-2008, 06:13 PM When I clicked protector, I got a lsit of the moldings on the door in various colors.
Kel is probably right about it being a discontinued part. Find one in a junk yard and then have it painted.
Maybe a body shop could sell you the part... idk.
