Hi, i am a new member of this forums, I live in Mexico and my English is not very good.

Next week IŽll buy a new Accoord Coupe EX. In Mexico we dont have available the car with the Honda Navigation System, and I Want to Install a Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD In-Dash DVD Multimedia AV Receiver ( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4023_77401213,00.html ).

I found this Dash Install Kit HONDA ACCORD 2003-2004+ T2 (TOP MOUNT) [TURBO2 DASH KIT] (*DUAL ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL*) #5065 in this web page ( http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/HONDA_ACCORD_20032004_T2__TOP_MOUNT_TURBO2_DASH_KI T_DUAL_p_5065.html ) the brand is Metra Online.

But in the page say that if I use this Dash kit I lose the Dual Zone Climate Control, and i dont want to lose it.

Somebody Knows more about this Dash install kit?

The brand is Metra Online, the web page is www.metraonline.com but there are no more information.

Another way for have a DVD and TV in my car is go to Texas and buy the Navigation system and install it there. And buy the AVElectronic Navigation Video Switcher System.

Somebody knows if I have an accord withot the navigation system by OEM if i can buy it and install it?

Regards!

David.

I think you'd be best off buying a car WITH the nav system from the factory. The computer for it is intergrated with everyting in the car: the climate control, the sound, the wheels, speed sensors, .... So to install one you'd basically be rewiring most of the car. Or lose some of the features. If you can't buy one with Nav then you may need to with a good handheld system.

I think he meant that he wanted to go buy just the Nav unit and install it in his, as opposed to buying a car in Texas that already had a Nav in it. I don't think you can do this, or else it will be a real pain.

In the center console, right in front of the shifter, there's an empty slot. What I would do is to see if you can find a shop that would be willing to custom mount it in that space there and possibly make an extension or something so you can mount the screen higher up. Or else, you can see if you want to mount the whole unit on top of the dash. It wouldn't look as clean but it would work and you'd get to keep the climate controls separate. Or heck if you're really daring, take the stock stereo/climate controls and cut it up so you can just take the stock stereo out and put in the new one.

Actually it wouldn't be worth it for someone in MX alot to get a factory nav, I think it only covers US & Can. So finding another one might be better, even if it's an install that takes away some of the features......

The target of have the navigation system in mexico, its only for have the screen in the upper dash i know the navigation system service is not vailable in mexico.

I only want have an screen in the top-dash, withot lose the dual zone climate conttrol.

I know exist another dash install kit, for the lower dash location (http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/HONDA_ACCORD_2003_DASH__WIRING_HARNESS_KIT_LOWER_p _694.html). And i think that i can use this kit for install de pioneer screen, and conecct it to the Aux factory input. I dont know if need an special accesory fort make this installation.

The problem is that the screen wil be installed very low.
