View Full Version : anyone else notice......?
princess 01-02-2005, 12:56 PM Today while driving in the drizzle my prince pointed out that sometimes he catches dripping out of the corner of his eye at the door window. I admitted to seeing the same thing while driving. We've both felt & looked for leaks & there isn't any.... just sometimes the drops fall down the window differently than the rest & the movement is caught by us. Have any of you noticed it too??:)
i dont think i've owned a car that doesnt do that.
princess 01-02-2005, 02:31 PM This is a little stranger than others we've owned. It'll startles you. It's WAY different than the adverage dribble that's not going with the rest. Kinda hard to explain. In the 2 years of driving the '02, it didn't happen like this.
Let's see if I can put it into words a little better....
You're going about 35, it's rainy & there's movement out of the corner of your eye... enough to make you turn your head. It looks like the car has water inside, so you feel around & there's none. You go some more. You see it again. You're SURE you saw something on the inside. You look & feel for a leak. Nothing. You go some more... it keeps happening. It's VERY distracting!
It has happened numerous times to me, even as the passenger. But at those times only on the freeway. It seems as the driver it's noticed at lower speeds.
Anyway, it's weird. We hadn't discussed it until after he saw it a couple of time today. Then we both had seen it & done about the same things when it happened.
We figured it's something about the way the 7th gens are shaped. This is the second rainy season. We'd both noticed it last year, but didn't say anything 'cuz it sounds so stupid....
So maybe we're just nuts! Wouldn't be the first time we thought so! :D
Sprocket 01-02-2005, 03:38 PM Whew! I'm glad it's not just me. I thought I was getting a bit paranoid.
I have done the same thing: felt around along the sill for water that is never there.
I have only had the Accord now for 2 months, but I must say our Odyssey has the same thing. I don't remember this "problem" so much on previous cars.... hmmm...
Maybe it IS me...
princess 01-03-2005, 06:25 AM It sounds a bit paranoid, huh? Did I describe it well? It's not the same as that stray dribble. It really looks like it's on the inside!
Anyone else admitting to thinking they had a window leak??? We were soooo sure it was!

YES,
freaked me out when I saw it... then I felt around and had a happy grin that the little elves that brought me my Accord... sealed the windows correctly!
princess 01-03-2005, 06:41 AM Yeah, I sure like the fact it was an illusion & not a real leak!:D
stiller fan 01-03-2005, 08:52 AM whine whine whine....we whine about a "window leak", and the wheels on the dodge durangos are falling off....go figure.... :joker:  :lmao:
princess 01-03-2005, 10:24 AM But it's not actually a leak! It's an illusion!
You're right, I don't think we'll have to worry about any wheels falling off.... unless you get tires put on at our local Sears.... they've had it happen numerous times!!;)
stiller fan 01-03-2005, 11:00 AM ah yes sears....took me 6 hours to get a new snow tire mounted....then, my tire was wobbling when i was leaving....almost had security called on me cause i was so mad.... :blah: :lmao:
as for the illusion: that's why i put "window leak" in quotes..... :D
princess 01-03-2005, 11:05 AM I got it....
:D
Just also playing on it.....

....
yes, it is something different from the usual water patterns...enough to get my attention.
I think it is a drip that comes from the front top corner of the window, and it goes straight down. Like it isn't affected by the wind.
There must an intermittent vortex at that front corner.
princess 01-04-2005, 10:48 AM Nice to know that I'm not COMPLETELY nuts! OK, maybe I am...... but I like knowing that others have seen this too!:D
My 04 Accord does that too. When I first got it I thought it was leaking on the inside!
Luke
princess 01-06-2005, 09:21 AM See.... it's not "normal" (like other cars)..... I don't think we'd be noticing it as a different dribble!
MackDaddy 01-08-2005, 06:11 AM I notice the same phenomeon on my 04 with OE wind deflectors.... they don't make a bit of difference.
Just for the record.... :D
