: POLL: Moving to Long Island. Which dealers would you recommend?
EXL_ent_V6 05-14-2008, 08:05 PM I figured this should help people out a bit (along with myself of course)
Please respond to which LONG ISLAND Honda dealer you would recommend to bring my Accord in for normal service. (i.e. Oil Change, tire rotation balance, etc...)
I should have all Long Island Honda's listed, but lemme know if not.
Also, please respond with a brief sentence about your experience, or bad experience at a particular dealership.
Thanks!!
Julian
KunalPatel87 05-14-2008, 08:36 PM We use to get our 1994 Civic serviced at the one in Hempstead, when we live on LI. We never had issues with their service department. I'm not such how they are now.
Where exactly on LI are you moving too? You're brave, btw. Most long islanders are trying to move out!
EXL_ent_V6 05-16-2008, 12:15 AM I'm going to be working in the Melville area, and my cousin is going to be working in Hicksville. So we are trying to rent a place in the general vicinity of those places.
I'm going to be doing financial planning (just graduated from college) and I'm working with a company with a great market and a lot of potential.
It's funny that you mention that people wanna leave Long Island. I was talking to someone who was giving me a moving estimate and he said for someone reason he's has TONS of booking this year for people moving from FL to Long Island. (so naturally I asked for a "volume discount" lol)
Ever miss the island?

Eh, you miss somethings (restaurants, old hangout spots, etc.) and not the others (sales tax, the maddness, etc.). I lived in the Garden City/New Hyde Park/West Hempstead area for about 10 years (basically grew up there). I still have family there but some plan on moving to DE or MD within the next 6 months. It looks like you're filling the vacancy.
Anyway, congratz on your new job and good luck!

GrandPoobah 05-17-2008, 12:37 PM I also live in Melville and I like Huntington Honda. I havnt gotten service at many other Hondas but I liked this one. The wait can be long of your waiting there but thats the same everywere. I personnaly like huntington honda because they always hook me up with something like some free wipers and 10-30% off the bill and the staff is just generally nice
spigilogan 06-06-2008, 12:51 PM I purchased both of my Honda's from Babylon Honda but I always take them to Honda City in Levittown for service because its closer to my house. Both have exceptional customer service. Either one would be a good choice.
EXL_ent_V6 06-23-2008, 12:33 PM well i guess i'm going with huntington honda from now on.
i brought my car to nardy and i personally felt they ****ed. it took FOREVER just to get an oil change and tire rotation. they tried selling me all sorts of bullshit and tried getting me onto their "maintenance schedule" which was very expensive every 3000 miles, which is totally unnecessary.
But, Huntington Honda is literally about .5miles from the new apartment I just signed a lease for. So lets hope they do me right!

I just bought my new LX-P Accord from them (Huntington Honda), however, I have no experience with the service Dept. The dealership in general goes out of their to insure customer satisfaction.
EXL_ent_V6 08-08-2008, 01:34 PM Just a little comment and update....
As of now, I'll be bringing my car to Huntington Honda for my service needs.
I just took the car there today because I had a nail in my tire.
I called up, they quoted $15 if the nail was in a fixable location. Didn't make an appointment, they just said should take under an hour.
Took the car there, had them fix the tire and check out my squeaky drivers window..... 45 minutes later, tires fixed and they did something for the window.
Total charge....$0.
They said "it was just a quick plug and repair, it's no charge"
They got my business... (atleast for now, haha)

Glad you liked them, my opinion was that their as good as Paragon is bad. Like nature's balance.
