Anyone know if you can turn on the daytime running lamps on a US '05 LX?

Yes. The control is located on the signal stalk, at the end. Rotate the control two clicks counter-clockwise immediately after starting the vehicle. Once the control is activated, simply leave it in this position (the lights will turn themselves off about a minute after you close and lock the doors).

03-05 US Accords do not have DRLs. You'll need to buy a module to add the feature to your car. Hamsar (http://www.hamsar.com/drlkits.htm) sells them.

Just leave your headlights on all the time. They shut off automatically a few seconds after you exit the car.

I hate to add after market "might work" parts to the car.

Obviously this was required in Canada so there is an OEM way to do it.

I'm surprised there isn't a write up somewhere.

I believe there is a DRL module to control the voltage fed to the high beam bulbs in DRL mode, there is also a "DRL" legend as part of the instrument panel, you might have gotten it to work with just the module assuming there are no differences in wiring harness.

Unless you have the VP/DX level, then the headlights are not auto-off.
