I know the instructions on the factory fog lights say the outdoor temoerature sensor cannot be added also. I ahve a few questions..First -does anybody know why? And second has anyone out done a mod to install both. Wife wants both. Figured before I tackled this job I would find out what I could do. Thnaks in advance.

unknown. I have put in the instructions for the 04 temp sensor.... maybe if you study the instructions for both you'll figure out why they can't be done together.

I'll keep looking for the answer too, but I have before & all I get is don't do it.

Thanks - someone at the dealer said he thought the fog lights blocked the temp sensor, thus giving a false reading. Just thought someone would have figured out a mod by now.

I think it's because they use the same spot to plug in.... like on the fuse box.... there MAY be a "pigtail" out to solve the problem..... I'll see if I can find more info.

Just wanting to know if you have come up with anything yet? My wife at a minumum wants me to add the factory fog lights, but still would like the outside temp sensor. My Chevy truck has both and I think she is alittle jealous.:D

Someone really good at car Honda wiring could do it.... not the dealer, but an alarm co. or stereo installer.....

I do believe it IS possible, just with some knowhow. The only reason I could find is due to the wiring. If it were me, I'd have Honda people do the temp thing & someone else do the foglights. Being an accessory the dealer installers should have the temp thing down by now! I don't think you'd talk the dealer into both.... too much time spent & they wouldn't want to warranty it.

No info on the rumored pigtail....:(

I guess a wiring wiz could make a pigtail so they could use the same fuse????

With all due respect to princess, I would not recommend using the same fuse for both. It's always better to use the fuse recommendations of the manufacturer. However, I do feel that there should be a way to have both the fog lights and the temperature gauge. Relocating the temp sensor to another part of the front bumper should work even if it requires lengthening the wires. If that is done, I would recommend soldering the wires together with shrink wrap over them. Also ensure that the temp sensor is away from anything that gets hot, as that will cause incorrect readings.

If you have room in the fuse block you can use an add a fuse.....

Maybe someone with a service manual can see where the EX ones plug in.

The manual shows only ONE pass-thru wire pre-wired into the existing wiring harness. Therefore, you can use it for the temp sensor OR fog light but not both unless you run an additional wire thru the firewall yourself.

The fog lights specifically say there is no problem with the temp sensor if it was factory installed. So, how did the factory do it differently? Is there a different wiring harness? Am I going to find out the information is wrong when I try to install the fog lights this weekend and there's no place to connect them?? :dunno:
