I'm debating about whether or not to purchase body side molding for my Black Accord Coupe V6... on one hand it might be helpful because I'm going to be parking it in a high school parking lot (and college within a few years)... and on the other hand I was wondering if it detracted from the look of the car. There are some pictures on the web where it stands out like a sore thumb... though I've never actually seen it on a black coupe yet, I was thinking it might just blend in because its a dark color. Does anyone out there have any pictures of side molding on a black coupe or any suggestions? (if it helps, the car also has a deck lid spoiler as well as front, side, back under body spoilers)

If you're gonna park in a high-school parking lot, your more prone to get your car keyed than dinged. My old civic had body side moldings, but there was one car who's rear-door was high enough to dent the side of my car. When it comes down to it (for me), I'd prefer not to have it on (and I don't, so if figures).

Here's my take: body-side moldings on the Coupe look like crap, on ANY color. Probably due to the angled crease along the doors. That's the one feature that makes the car stand out... and killed by those moldings.
And finally, if you want to protect your car from door dings, you'd have to put TWO SETS of moldings, to protect from SUVs/Trucks and cars. So it AIN'T the answer man. I'd leave it alone, and take the time to park your car in a safe spot. I've never had moldings, and never a ding on my doors, but I'm very picky where I park. At the end, it's your money, so do what you please, but don't think moldings will avoid all dings. Besides, dinged moldings look pretty bad too, so why bother:D. Good luck with your decision.

When I originally purchased my black 2008 Honda Accord I did not get the molding for the same reason....I thought it would look bad. Then two weeks after I bought the car someone opened their door in a parking lot and put a big dent in the side of the car. So last week I had them fix the dent and put on the molding. It is hardly even noticeable, not like molding in the old days. I used an interesting service provided by the dealer where an outside person comes in to fix dents without the need to do any repainting, and in many cases not even taking off any inside panels. They said it was like watching a surgeon in action with all the specialized tools he used.
