Okay, please read closely so i can get a detailed answer. It's to my understanding that the stock "Premium" deck has crossovers in it for front components. Here is the question. When i intall ne components that I want powered by the deck, will the dualing crossovers be a problem? Is there a way to by-pass the stock x-over or would I be better fit to use the stock x-overs? If you need more clarity on what im asking, plz post.

The dual crossovers will be a problem.

Another member posted questions about this before. Infinity speakers purchased from Best Buy and they had to remove the Infinity crossover for it to sound right.

I dont know how you would bypass the stock crossovers unless you bypassed the premium sound system amp...in this case, you would need a similar setup to mine...see below.

It really is not a crossover, it is just a capacitor on the tweeter to protect it. When you take out the tweeter it goes out with it.

Actually, it is a crossover. It's a simple crossover. It is a lowpass filter. Capacitors block DC, and depending on their value will roll off and attenuate low frequencies. The bonus of the capacitor is that it protects the tweeter from damage.

A capacitor on a tweeter is a highpass filter -- it lets high freqs. through while filtering out low freq. Lowpass filters involve inductors, not capacitors. Crossovers are nothing more than various combinations of resistors, caps, and inductors.

The way I understand our premiun system is that if you want to change out any of the components and keep the head unit, you have to get something like a JL Cleansweep or something similar. You could use your aftermarket crossovers if you installed one of these.
