Calif will be enforcing the no cell phone law starting the 1st . i need a vehicle mounted system . what seems to be the best available solution.

I'd suggest the new Honda OEM Bluetooth kit, which mounts where the sunglass holder is now -

Another very good alternative is a Parrot brand kit. I have this (3100 model) and it is fantastic in our SUV.

I have a Parrot system and I like it a lot. Most people don't know that I am using a handsfree system.

Here's a pic of it in my car.

You'd be amazed at how well those little speakers work. I use a BlueAnt Supertooth HFK in mine, and it's got a speaker that's probably no more than 1.5-2"
No tough installation. clips right to the sunviser.

Why bother building something in to the car? Just get a bluetooth headset and it will work IN or OUTSIDE the car. If you're the type who doesn't like wearing it, keep it stashed in that tiny "not an ashtray" or the little cubbie hole to the left of the steering wheel. Cost ranges from $29.99 to $100.
I heard LG was giving them away in California recently.

That's because the only time you are REQUIRED to use a handsfree system is when you are driving. Alot of people are ok with just holding their phones when they talk elsewhere outside the car. I, for one, am one of those people that hold their cell phone.

I just had the OEM deal installed in my EX sedan, it's bad ass. I'm sure the one that is integrated with the wheel and Navi is better, but we are talking about my $22,000 car vs. a $30,000 one.

I'm interested , can you tell me more . like why you feel it is bad ass . and maybe an honest review thats informative

In the past, I've used a BT headset as well, but in the long run there's no substitute for having a hardwired ignition-sensed BT that is on every time you are in the car. I found myself too-often forgetting to turn the headset on or put it in my ear before driving, and then having to fumble for it when a call came in.

I got the Honda Accessory BT unit from College Hills Honda and installed it myself. Even at the College Hills discount price, self-installed, it's still overpriced, but to me there's no substitute for an OEM integrated unit. I've already got a "please-steal-me" aftermarket GPS mount in the car, I didn't need another reason for someone to send me to the window replacement shop.

As for performance, it works better than any other Bluetooth car kit I've owned (and that's a large number), which is surprising given how compact the speaker and mic setup is. It's definitely no-frills other than the voice command feature (which, again, works very well for its limited purpose), but I've never had a single problem either hearing or being heard. I think it's just the relentless march of technology - performance just keeps improving.

Exactly what HomeJS said above. That pretty much sums it up.

Does the caller on the other end hear any echo with the OEM kit? I had a Pioneer Avic-Z1 and it was crystal clear in the car, but the caller hear themselves talk as an echo. I would like to get something that has solved the echo problems.

Thanks,
Tim
