CoZZm0_AU 06-19-2008, 11:10 PM I read in another thread that the MPG readings are off when the motor is in VCM mode. clewttu 06-20-2008, 05:57 AM I4 has no VCM EliteXen 08-01-2008, 08:03 PM Well my ScanGauge finally arrived, manufacturering delays plus the first unit was defected. But it's very cool, only played with it for a few minutes but right off the bat it shows mpg, rpm, and mph. The instanteous mpg is a HUGE plus i think it'll definitely help with my lead foot if I i can instantly see how i'm pissing away my fuel economy. I'm going to mount it tomorrow and post some pics. Cool, thanks .. I thought it was difficult to install one of these .. I'm considering buying one now. Knight04 08-04-2008, 09:24 AM Mine arrived Friday and had it hooked up in 10 mins. Seems to work just fine. lots of interesting information. Not sure what to do with all of the info, but if a CAI ever comes out I will be able to tell if the Intake air is cooler! Make sure you read the manual first! Bottom line, u need to set the engine size, tank size, etc, and got through a specific procedure for the first couple fill ups... I'd continue to do the fuel economy check manually, for a while, before you trust it. In my case it off by up to 1-MPG, but it is typically less than 1/2 MPG, or less (last fill up was 27.18 MPG, and SG2=26.9 MPG (combo, in-town/Hwy). Most of the error is because, it only keeps track of MPH in full units (65 MPH Vs 64.5 MPG). I'm off by about 1/2 MPH Vs GPS (that shows 0.1 MPH). However, the error is not the same at all speeds, it is an offset, that is that the 1/2 MPH is at 25 and 75 MPH+. The SG2's speed adjustment is only 1% MPH, and this is a different speed at 25 Vs 75, as a percentage... EliteXen 08-04-2008, 06:11 PM where is the OBD port?
