Hi,

After reading posts on this forum and elsewhere, I've gone ahead and gathered a list of upgrades I want to buy for my 08 Accord Coupe:

Kenwood DNX7120 Head Unit
-Ipod & Steering wheel adapter
Boston Pro 60s (Front and rear)
Alpine PDX-5 Amp
Jl Audio 8W3v3-4 8" Sub

For the Boston Pro speakers, do I need to buy any adapters before I hand them over to the installer? Also, will the 8" JL sub be able to drop in and replace my stock sub(i have the 270 premium)? Finally how much do you think it will cost to have all of this installed?

thanks!

Going install rate here in S. Cali is $75 hour. Be sure to shop around and dont' be afraid to ask questions, look at customer's cars, and inspect the install bay. Last thing you want to deal with is a p!ss poor install.

More and more ppl these days do their own installs. IMHO it is more gratifying if you have the time, tools, and technical know how.

I'm no pro but I think the JL sub needs to be in a box to perform correctly.

no i think the w3's are IB capable. btw install it all yourself its really not that hard. it took me a month to finish it all but i only spent mabe 1/2 a day each week.

Don't mean to disagree but I think your mistaken, I know JL used to make Infinite Baffle Subs but I think they discontinued the line. I think the 8" model was 8IB4. If it doesn't say infinite baffle on it chances are you need an enclosure or you won't see much improvement over the stock system.

JL Audio web site says the 8w3v3 uses sealed or ported enclosure.
The only IB sub is the 8IB4 in their discontinued section.

JL came out with 8" IB sub this spring, model# ZR800-CW, about $225 MSRP... this is the option im probably going to go with as i dont want to lose trunk space (one reason i bought the car)... along with some JL components up front and full range(s) in the rear deck, unless i can find some 6.5" IB subs with short mounting depths for the rear (i dont sit back there :D)...
