Forum Rules and Regulations
The following Rules and Regulations are ban-able offenses warranting Account Suspension. Please read them; violation of these rules will be taken very seriously.

Derogatory, inflammatory, blatantly false or misleading messages intended to cause a forum disruption and to provoke other members (i.e. Trolling) will not be tolerated. Threads or posts will be removed without notice. 1st offense will result in a "Troll" warning, second offense will result in account suspension.

Creating a 2nd account is grounds for a permanent account ban, of all registered accounts, either while actively registered under another account, or after having a previous account suspended or banned. Further disruption of forum activity by creation of duplicate accounts may result in legal action against the offender.

Threads or posts that link members to other sites for the purpose of phishing will be removed without notice. Accounts associated with these posts will be suspended.

Threads or posts that contain unapproved advertisements or advertisement "spamming" will be removed without notice. Accounts associated with these posts will be suspended.

General Forum Rules

Violation of the General Forum Rules will result in immediate thread and/or post removal. The violators will be cited an infraction for violating the general forum rule. Multiple offenses will result in temporary or permanent account suspension.

Street racing is an illegal activity and is not condoned by DriveAccord.net. Threads or posts that discuss street racing will be removed without notice

No nudity or pornography. Threads or posts containing nudity or pornography will not be tolerated. This includes pictures or links. These threads or posts will be removed without notice.

No threads or posts with distasteful sexually oriented discussions will be tolerated. These threads or posts will be removed without notice.

No threads or posts that are hateful or threatening toward any member, group, race, religion or nationality will be tolerated. These threads or posts will be removed without notice.

No bashing of other message boards or forums will be tolerated. These threads or posts will be edited or removed without notice.

No personal attacks in any form will be tolerated. These threads or posts will be removed without notice and the Offender will be cited an infraction.

No threads or posts that directly insult any other DriveAccord member will be tolerated. These threads or posts will be removed without notice.

No threads or posts that entice or bait members to bash or flame others will be tolerated. These threads or posts will be edited or removed without notice.

Double postings or spamming the forum(s) is not acceptable. Any of these threads or posts will be removed without notice. These threads or posts will be removed without notice.

No threads or posts containing software, or products obtained from illegal means, or that you don’t legally have a right to re-distribute may be posted. These threads or posts will be removed without notice.

No threads or posts that involve disabling mandatory safety devices or their associated components will be tolerated and will be locked/deleted without notice.

Infractions and the Point System

Ignorance of these rules is not acceptable or an excuse. If you break the rules and we call you on it, we do not want to hear any whining. Failure to comply by these rules may result in a warning, infraction, temporary suspension, or permanent account ban. Infraction points may be given by the site staff for breaking the rules, if you receive 3 infraction points, your account will be deleted. DriveAccord.net is operated as a board viewable by all ages; in other words, we fall in between G and PG rated. If you feel you cannot comply with the rules we have stated here, then DriveAccord.net is not the place for you. There are other sites out there that do allow the stuff that we do not. Feel free to visit them if you cannot follow our rules, or start up your own forum.

DA Members,

These rules are in place and will be enforced by all DriveAccord.net Moderating staff. They were discussed at length by the moderators and this is what we came up with. Please PM a moderator if you have something you'd like to add to the list of rules for the forum.

Very Respectfully,

Your DA Moderating Staff

Yes, they're new rules.... effective immediately.

Things have gotten a bit out of control, so hopefully these rules will put a stop to the issues.

Drive Accord is growing, and as more people frequent the site there will undoubtedly be more issues. With that said, DA is a family-oriented site and these rules were developed to keep it that way.

Great compilation of posting etiquette!

I *personally* feel the one-strike and you're out (ie. suspended, not banned unless the particular infraction is blatantly egregious and warrants it) works most effectively as a deterrent.

Why give a warning after-the-fact once the damage/insult/personal-attack has already been done!?!

On every-other auto-enthusiast forum that I am a member of and frequent regularly, an immediate suspension (ie. temporary ban) is applied at the FIRST instance of rules violations (regarding 'personal attacks' from the list in the original post in this thread).

As stated in the second posting of this thread, these rules were discussed at length by the mod's. We feel that these rules are fair to all of the members of DA. As DA isn't another cookie cutter auto forum and these rules show that.

All of these "rules" or in my opinion, good etiquette have been regularly enforced, it's time to formalize them to all the members as a heads-up so no one can claim ignorance and act surprised when these rules come in play.

Surprisingly enough many of the rules are being broken on a daily basis.

I still don't understand how you are going to find out whether or not someone has created a second account once banned. People here could have 10 accounts for all we know.

Surprisingly enough many of the rules are being broken on a daily basis.Nah, man. The mods' here do a damn fine job of keeping this place tip-top!

Though, I feel the whip needs to be cracked harder & more often in certain instances... however, this is a *personal* opinion.

I still don't understand how you are going to find out whether or not someone has created a second account once banned. People here could have 10 accounts for all we know. The administrator of the site has a log of I.P.'s used by a particular member whenever they log-on. So, if the I.P. of a recently banned/suspended member all of a sudden reappears w/ a newly registered member... voila!

That is true....and guess what....the ones we catch will be the quickest ones banned from this site after 3 warnings.

The rules are here so people know why their friends may one day disappear if they continue the poor behavior.

Steven,

It would be wise to describe here how to report a post to moderators. I just recently found out about the icon at the top right of posts and I've been here a while. Once clicked it opens a dialog box to type in......what do you want there? Is it necessary to include a link to the offending thread? In short help us to help you guys (and gal:) ) to moderate by explaining exactly what to do and it should be made a sticky.

The rules are very reasonable IMO. Some of us may have differing opinions (agree to disagree) from time to time, but there is no need to be nasty to one another. Kudos to the moderators!

note to self (and to anyone else who falls into the trap that i fall into by the simple act of your name appearing), make sure to use "ignore user" option so as to not accidentally be cited for contributing to anything in any fashion no matter how unintended........ :lmao::paranoid:

will the :drink: :puke: :stupid::salue::cig::beatnik: smileys be removed as they have been known to either a. incite a riot over their use or b. inappropriate for g rated audiences as determined by other g rated atmospheres? :paranoid:
