The black paint on my '90 2-door Accord's metal wiper blade holder arms is worn, leaving the shiny metal exposed. When the sun hits it at certain angle, it can be very annoying and distracting.

The remaining original paint on the blade holder arms looks like it was applied as a powder. Regardless, what's a good durable matte black paint that I could use?

For lack of knowing any better, some thoughts that I have include:

- Rustoleum-brand paint from the hardware store. It's designed for metal applications.

- Paint for barbecues. These paints tolerate very high temperatures. Perhaps they are rugged and durable for my purposes?

- Spray can of automobile touch-up paint?

- Any other ideas?

I had that happen and tried...well...a sharpy. :D I wouldn't recommend it, however it did cover up the shiny spots, and from a distance you couldn't tell, but up close it was a bit shotty.

I experienced the same condition on a pair of Preludes, '89 and '91. Any quality exterior paint intended for metal should last for at least 3-4 years based on my experience. I used Rustoleum. I strongly recommend sanding with a very fine sand paper, priming, sanding lightly, and then 2 thin coats of paint.

Thanks, that's probably what I'll do: sand, prime, and two coats of some exterior paint for metal.
