First of all, if you are reading this, than you are curious about how to get a mod in contact with a post that you feel is against the rules of the forum located here:

Rules (http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19181)

You may also be reading this b/c RTF suggested a DIY for this and it was a great idea!

How to Report a Post

This is simple. Go to the post that you find is against the rules. You will see a triangle emblem with an exclamation point in it (it is circled in the attached picture).

Click on this emblem. It will take you to a screen where you are asked to type a message. In this message, just give the mods a heads up on what is offensive in the post. We as mods will get the message along with links to the thread as well as the individual post in question.

If there are any questions, feel free to PM any mod and they will do their best to help you out.

This ability to report a post is a way to help all of us keep the forum clean of spam and posts that violate our rules. Please do not abuse the button, but by all means report away when you see posts in question. It really helps us out to find all of these posts and squash them.

V/R,

x2.

Now how exactly do we report offensive avatars? I've seen quite a few that I don't feel represent our family oriented and mature atmosphere.:dunno:

I suppose if enough complaints are made, then a mod could warn the person... if it's not changed, then an infraction. The offensiveness would need to be pretty bold. While mj is illegal, the pictures of it's not. It could be helpful in determining who you're dealing with. :naughty: It has helped me in the past.:D

Well I wasn't really speaking out against that particular avatar. I don't smoke anything, nor do I really care to see it on DA, but the image is not 'offensive'.

Thanks though...

It's not my "cup of tea" either....but being the OLD LADY on here, I could find offensive things about several pix. So that's why I'd leave it up to the masses. I will say that us mods have discussed a few avatars.

Personally, when I see something like that leaf, or a girlie pix, it makes me automatically give the person less slack on other things.... it's just human nature. So a bad attitude will be judged harsher.

Kinda like trying to convince a tech you maintain your car diligently when you take it in all crusty on the outside, full of trash on the inside & all. I can assure you that a tech may not mean to, but he'll not take the care he might with a clean one.:)

in no way did I intend to offend anyone, and if I have, I apologize. I work daily to break the typical "stoner" stigmas; I am in my final year towards my BS in Cultural Anthropology, heading to law school next year, and a daily MMJ user. no, I was not asked by a mod to change it, guess I just wanted to put it out there that "stoners" can be accord enthusiasts as well.

In terms of 'girlie' pics, princess, I guess my avatar fits under that description. But these are all my students who were in the audience.

Should I change?

Perhaps in the Maserati GranTurismo rather than the Dodge Viper pictured?

No...don't change it.

Mainly....we are looking for truly offensive avatars.....something that would offend the 95% percentile...not the 5th percentile.

We are not looking to censor all beliefs, pictures, and values...just the ones that are detrimental to the forum as a whole.

As long as it is PG...I think we would consider it okay.

OMG!!!...I was completely kidding....making a joke.....a funny if you will. I was in no way serious. A picture like that hurts no one. As long as they continue to advertise cigs to kids, there is no way you can complain about that. Sorry I started anything!

That's my point! It needs to offend the masses to really matter, I think.

No, females merely in a pix doesn't qualify!:D I couldn't post pix of myself if that were true! Y'all know the ones I'm talking about. In the past some have been asked to change them.

421, your attitude makes all the difference!! I'm all for legalizing it. I know, you're probably shocked.... I figure we might as well get some tax money from it too. The impairment is pretty equal to alcohol. My daughter's ex has been a "stoner" for ages. He's now in med school & wants to be in brain research. He went totally off of it after seeing what happens to the brain. I think there's good in it too, like with many medicines: helpful if done right, harmful if abused.

I don't use it. I don't have a need. My world has no space for it. A real good friend does because she has glucoma. (sp?) It helps with the pressure she has. I tried to get my mom to get her dying brother in law to get some. He was on Chemo & needed to get the munchies since he was whithering away. She said she'd not know where to find it. I told her to ask my nephew. She never got the guts to do it.

Then again a barely drink alcohol either.

So if you want your leaf, I don't care. I'll certainly let you know if I get too many complaints though. Who knows, someone may hate Tinkerbell & ask that I remove mine too!!:paranoid:

not shocked at all princess, and FYI state board of equalization has enforced a "start paying your taxes or we will report what you're doing" kind of deal for the clinics so they've been taxing for almost a year now.

anyways, back to reporting posts.....

I didn't mean that it offended me so I apologize if it was taken that way. I was just making a statement in that I was surprised that it was allowed.

Remember, I grew up in the 60's and 70's......I can even remember some of that time frame
