My son took his 08 accord coupe to electronics store for amp(RockfordFosgate Punch) and subs to be installed, hooked into factory system. While on his way home he notice a beat like noise not in music, so turned radio off and still had noise. He called and the installer told him he did not know what he could do about it. On top off that they did damage to his center console when throwing his old box into the back seat? We will talk to the manager of store in a few days but I would like to know correct install method and how to approach on damage they did. Any suggestions or anyone have similar experience

Most 2008 Accords have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). 2 microphones in the cabin listen for a certain range of low frequency sounds. The audio system is used to send out sound waves to cancel the detected noise to help keep the cabin quiet. The system works if the head unit is on or off. It's mostly likely ANC causing the feedback.
Read thru the audio section. There are quite a few threads discussing how after market stereo mods interfere with the ANC and vice versa. So far the best way to disable ANC is to disconnect the microphones - one in the sunglasses holder and the second in the rear deck.
What model/trim level is the car?
ANC sounds like a good possibility. It is a Accord Coupe trim level LX-S

^ yea what he said...and yea, there are two mics...one in tha where tha homelink is supposed to go...and one in right behind the back seat that u have to disconnect if u are addin a sub
Thanks Trip you were right on about the ANC. When we went back to shop and I ask if they were familiar with the ANC and they said they were but they kept troubleshooting with no luck. Finally I ask if they thought disconnecting the microphones would work. They did not know where they were, so with the information I had gathered from this site I told them where and how to get at them, it worked great and the system sounds really good. Again Thanks to all
