When buying a piece that is critical (can't afford it to break) I would get OEM and not some knockoff.

Those are the chrome plated plastic stick on's. Shouldn't be much to installing those.

where can you find the OE chrome handles, can't find them on bernardi parts

wife freakin had a flat and while i was getting the tire fixed at discout, some a-hole ran his door into the handle.

and the car has a whopping 700 mi

i am thinking about getting them also, and to the poster that said get OEM....REALLY? i mean honestly really? whats so better than the ones on ebay? i wouldn't be surprised if they are the same, OEM would work the same way of 3m tape being put on the back of them and putting them on the handles...people need to calm down with the the whole OEM talk

well, it's tape on chrome vs chrome dipped. obviously dipped is better.

The OEM ones aren't just stick on from factory. The entire thing is chromed, no edges, tape, nothing.

ok, well how much are they? are you willing to replace the entire handle? too many cons to go through and messing up in the process, stick the ebay kind on and forgot it, if they fall off which they shouldnt if you prep everything right then you only lost 20$

for the OEM ones plan on spending and hour or so per door and a close to $30 a door for parts, there are 2 pieces per door. they have come down a lot since May, till then they were close to $70 a door.
Im still trying to decide if I want to take mine off, I do but Im lazy!

You get what you pay for. It isn't a matter of 'falling off', etc'. It more of how long will they look 'new' & how they feel when touched/handled.

They don't age all that well, the chrome-finishing oxidizes/peels/fades, the plastic pits, the surface scratches easily, and so forth. These after-market chrome-covered 'bits are merely a thin-sheet of chrome-film over a plastic-part.

There's a difference in getting an after-market OEM-style replica spoiler, of which an actual OEM version exists and was copied. Whereas these kitschy, shiny replica parts are good from a far, but far from good.

With that said, $20/shipped for the '08 Accord chrome-trim door-handle covers is not bad, but don't compare them to their OEM counterparts (actual chrome-plate & chrome-covered door-handle). . .

Yes BUT, are you willing to go ahead and remove and redo the entire handle just for the chrome? IMHO its too much to do for just handles, why does it matter how long the chrome from ebay handle will last for? its 20$, it goes bad you replace it, its not like you are spending a fortune here. but if someone is willing to buy the OEM and install them ten thats fine, i wouldnt waste my time doing that though

Guess I'm different because if my car had chrome door handles, I would be trying to take them off! I think the car look so much better with the handles painted to match the car.

Yep. If it was easy to remove them, I'd gladly trade them (free of charge:)) for red ones from a forum member. Not worth the hassle, so will keep them. Would have preferred a leather boot and nicer knob instead of the stupid chrome handles that need cleaning (not that I do it, but they look awful if you don't) everytime they're touched. Take care.
