I discovered this little trick when I was using some silicone caulk to go over the wheelwell mouldings of my Civic, preparing for wintertime.
If you have any black trim parts on your car, or your bumpers are black, a tip for making them look like brand new is to work caulk-tube type silicone into the area with your fingers, and then wipe off the excess with a lint-free towel. It won't be greasy, and it will restore the look of black plastic to a new appearance, no matter how faded it is. You can use rubber gloves if you so choose, but doing it with a towel or cloth will not produce the same result. A little tiring on the fingers, but well worth it.
The nice thing is that once you do it, you won't have to reapply for at least a year. The results will be astounding! Give it a try and let us know how you do :)
