K&N drop in panel filter to replace OEM for 03-05 2.4l Accord. This will not increase performance, I bought it so as to never have to buy another filter. Pristine condition, about 8000 miles & still clean. PM me I'll be glad to e-mail pictures. $25.00 + TRUE shipping cost.

EDIT Let's make this $25 shipped. I don't need it anymore, someone else may benefit from it.

I've been meaning to order one of those, again for the sake of never buying an air filter again.... just haven't done it yet. have to score points with the wife so she doesn't freak out when more car parts show up at the door. :D

i thought K&N air filters slightly increased performance due to increased airflow??? enlighten me pls... :)

When you are ready let me know. It is wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape so it won't get dirty or beat up.

sales gimick. not realistic. if they claim 5 hp, you won't notice it even if it's true......

sorry, didn't catch the part that you had one for sale. I need to read closer.

As I stated, there is not a performance increase. It will save money in the long run because you will never have to buy another filter. A paper filter at the local dealership(s) here is $27.50 & up! Robbery I tell you, robbery.

Stiller Fan: The short ram and CAI will indeed increase performance, the panel will not, nothing that you can notice anyway. I'm being brutally honest about this, no BS.

Seriously interested parties lay a PM on me.

how about the cone air filter?

Both of the above employ a cone filter. Go here:

go to www.bobistheoilguy.com

he has a review on the filters etc

the more free flowing your filter is the less it traps, meaning more gets into your engine.

k&n did just that.

the guy showed a test that was evident of k&n poor filtration as well as no improvement in hp at all.

OwAce -

This debate will go on for decades after I'm six feet in the ground. There is also a thread on Bobistheoilguy where a fella ran a K&N 200,000 + miles in his mother's car and it was NEVER CLEANED! Search for it on that site. One of the moderators has a Corvette that came with a K&N and his UOA's (used oil analysis) have been exemplary.

I have run these filters for so long that I used to order them from England because they were not available in the USA. I have sent in used oil for analysis and have never received one back with high silicon.

I'm member #415 on that site, there is nothing I haven't read.

Not necessarily!! A flat panel filter is less efficient for air flow compared to a conical style filter.
Now if you are saying a larger pore opening in the actual element then yes!!
When I was at the Wix factory in 1996 they were all puffed up over their new Nascar filters... and to quote one of the engineers these filters will slow down a mosquito but its going to go threw the element!!!(not for the daily driver.)
But also they where very proud of the fact that their joint venture with FoMoCo resulted in a air box and filter design for the Mustang that added close to 15HP.
And that design was a conical filter element with a solid tip cone point on the inlet end.
I don't know how many of you remember the old style air filters that had a round element that you would turn periodically because the air contact patch was only about 4" across on a 20" filter element.(I know you do RTF.. remember oil bath filters?)
Now we have flat panel filters that direct the air flow across the filter pleats. Those you may notice usually show a dirt pattern that covers less than 60% of the element.
A conical design in a properly designed air box/housing will show a 95%+ coverage on the element and flows into the pleats rather than across at an angle creating less turbulence in the air box.

first oil bath filter I saw was on a 914 and I had no idea what it was. I thought it was blowby to the max at the time until somebody told me that it was supposed to be that way..... :) then the old guys told me they used to use a roll of TP for an oil filter on one particular engine....??????

im glad you pointed this out to me

i was definately skeptical about the performance aspect of a kn airfilter.

was worried about the filtration aspect of it as well, but the more and more i hear from ppl like R texasF the better i feel bout it,

really i was just pointing out what i had read on that one test.
thanks for pointing it out.

good man, thanks for not ripping on me like most other people would do.

:notworthy: respect RTexasF
