If it's around 1 inch or so, springs will be fine (Eibach, H&R, Tein, etc.). If you want it lower, then you'll want coilovers or an after market spring and shock setup. Coilovers would be the best choice since you can adjust the height if you find the drop to be too low. Some coilover models even let you adjust the damping. silverbullet 07-16-2008, 10:33 PM thanks.any websites? The Pope 07-17-2008, 02:36 AM Need a little more info on your car. Coup or Sedan ... I4 or V6 Adding this info to your signature is also a good thing too. This is what I bought (except I had them to swap out the "Race Springs" for the "Sport Springs" : http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=52|AC&type=2<ype=ns_import&p_id=1934 The springs are made for Neuspeed by H&R. Also I haven't had the chance to install them yet, just too busy. :boohoo: Here a link to H&R: http://hrsprings.com/scripts/appguide.php?Mode=Application+Guide&SubMode=Find2&Year=2004&ModelID=201&q=2004%20|%20Honda%20|%20Accord Here's a link to Eibach: http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.exe/08103.3.3272700888000014265 thuglifesk 07-17-2008, 01:33 PM How is the ride quality after lowering guys? Like i always had my old cars lowered on springs on coilovers, but my car was always jumping around. I want to lower my accord too, but i dont want to get a bumpy ride. Whats the best way to prevent that? odk 07-17-2008, 05:55 PM Consider Tanabe NF210 lowering springs. A little over 1.25" drop front and rear with a very smooth stock ride. silverbullet 07-17-2008, 07:12 PM Thanks guys for the replies.By the way its an 04 sedan, I4 HCF 07-18-2008, 12:09 AM Check out www.tirerack.com under their suspension stuff. I have the H&R OE springs on a 2000 civic.. and the ride is firm, but not at all harsh, and it sits much nicer. Just make sure you also upgrade your struts.. the stock ones don't have a dampening range for lower than stock ride height.. and they will either blow.. or ride like crap.. then blow. Let us know what you go with. frenzal 07-18-2008, 03:35 AM Yeah, if you don't want a bumpy ride, change your shocks too! Blackhawk 07-21-2008, 07:41 AM HFP suspension. Best combination of handling, ride height, and ride comfort :) thuglifesk 07-21-2008, 11:55 AM So whats the best combination of all 3 things. Shocks, struts and springs? frenzal 07-22-2008, 03:54 AM So whats the best combination of all 3 things. Shocks, struts and springs? Depends on what you like and on what you want to do with your car! thuglifesk 07-22-2008, 01:20 PM Well i want to lower it about 1.25 to 1.5 inches, but i dont want to sacrifice ride quality....My budget is about $500....I wanna know the best option for doing this? evident 07-22-2008, 07:43 PM HFP suspension. Best combination of handling, ride height, and ride comfort :) where can HFP suspension be purchased? and for how much? namegoeshere 07-22-2008, 09:50 PM Well i want to lower it about 1.25 to 1.5 inches, but i dont want to sacrifice ride quality....My budget is about $500....I wanna know the best option for doing this? For your budget, I'd say the Neuspeed super cup kit that The Pope mentioned. That, or used coilovers. frenzal 07-23-2008, 03:48 AM For your budget, I'd say the Neuspeed super cup kit that The Pope mentioned. That, or used coilovers. I would say the same, except change the race springs for the sport springs, as Pope did I think... thuglifesk 07-23-2008, 12:56 PM Aryte.. that makes sense....so winter time i could possibly raise it up if i want to? namegoeshere 07-23-2008, 01:07 PM Yes. The Neuspeed kit offers +/- 0.5 inch height adjustability. Coilovers offer even more. frenzal 07-23-2008, 03:48 PM But each time you raise/lower, you need to get an alignment. But with a small drop on Eibach Pro-Kit for example (1.3/1.4" drop), you don't really need to raise the car, even in the worst winter. This is what I ride with the full HFP aero kit and I have no problem in the winter (Canada). You should be fine. Blackhawk 07-28-2008, 04:56 AM Yeah the HFP drop is the subtlest of all at 1.2" all around. It will give you good ground clearance and handling/ride. Just explore the options mentioned here, they are all good :) Hondaonda1991 08-31-2008, 10:48 PM I have personally used the H&R Sport spring w/stock shocks. The ride is a little more firm the stock, you can tell the biggest difference on cornering and lane changes. I will soon be getting the Acura TL Rear Swaybar for added improvement in handling. slowtippin 09-07-2008, 09:14 AM i bought some acekogyo street coilovers on ebay for about 80 total . the installation cost was 390 at 65$ an hour. the spring itself was smaller so the installation dropped the ride itself with 2 and a half inches to drop or raise. i spent atleast 500 for the install and purchase. not to mention the ride is very smooth. very caddyish. i love ebay . go with a adj. coilover if you want some slack to play with mg1942 09-08-2008, 11:56 AM I'm saving up for Tein Comfort Sport. http://www.tein.com/products/comfort_sport.html http://www.raceinspired.com/p-2548-tein-super-street-coilover-damper-kit-honda-accord-2003-up.aspx (for Honda Accord 2003-up) For those concerned with ride height Ride Height Drop (in.) -2.4 front -2.2 rear Min Ride Height Adjustment Range (in.) -3.7front -3 rear Max Ride Height Adjustment Range (in.) -0.2 front -1.3 rear CarlR33 09-09-2008, 02:16 AM If it is a daily driver and you drive in the winter snow, I would not go to low. You have to get used to parking back from parking curbs, pulling into steep drives, plowing snow while driving, etc. Mine has the inch or less and is OK for daily driver. Just my 2 cents. hey guys Im planing to lower the car a bit.what are the best way to go? |
