I followed torquelover's lead and installed the short shift kit today.
No wonder he liked it so much! They should come this way from the factory.
The detents are much more defined and the motions have been drastically reduced. They claim a 30% reduction in throw but it feels like it's more than that.
I highly recommend this mod.
Next comes the 17mm rear anti sway bar.

people will butcher anything I see. :) never would've thought to do that to accomplish shorter shift.
RTF.... how is the shift effort now??? I've thought about this mod, but some short shifters I've driven are nice and short, but require way too much force/effort to shift......

Hey Lamborghini's do that too but they don't need any special equipment! Actually, the 6th genners have been doing that for years, hacking their shifters. They swear up and down that you get a better feel of what gear it's in, but the pendulum effect seems to contradict them. I donno what to believe :bawling:

Lots of people actually did both. And the 6th gen one is like $80 I think, at least the DC Sports one.

There is a bit more effort required than before but it's not excessive. By sliding the console armrest forward I can shift using just my wrist. I took the trouble to re-lube everything (including the new part) with white lithium grease. It's the best 50 bucks I've spent on this car period!

Glad this got coughed back up.
after 2-3 days the shifter was typically Honda slick. I'll repeat......it's the best $50 I've spent on this car.

Try nopionline.com and modacar.com too for price comparison, not sure if they have it but worth a try.
