Just another face in the crowd shopping HID's.
I have looked at 15-20 different web pages all selling HID's. I am trying to find something in the $200 range. I want 8000k -10000k. The kicker is 90% of those sites don't have a relay or offer colors other than 4300K or 6000K.
I am trying to drop some hints down for my wife for B-day coming up. I want to be specific as possible with the wife or i might end up with the wrong equipment.
The site sponsor a nice deal, but not enough pics of the spectrum on actual cars.
BTW -I found DA by searching google for HID kits.

Xenondepot does have a relay and does offer 8000k, although 8000k-10000k is excessively blue.

+1 on both accounts. Our site sponsor is probably one of the best places to shop for HIDs. If that's how you found DA, stick with what works.
8000k is very blue and 10000k is just asking for trouble. Your usable light is greatly reduced. I have 6500k and sometimes I wish it were a tad whiter. Not often :) but sometimes.

Even if the kit doesnt come with a relay you can always just add one. They are really cheap and available anywhere auto parts or electronic parts are sold. The kit I bought was retro solutions 6000K and It did not require a relay.

My suggestion is first to stick in that 4300k-6000k range for useable output because our eyes are tuned by millions of years of evolution (or by intellignet design) to see white sunlight. If you need a little color then 6000k may be the best choice.
I would strongly recommend a relay on any kit even if it does not come with one, the only exception to that rule is with our kits because of there low starting current requirements. A lot of vendors will sell a kit that is marketed as plug and play when the specifications of the ballasts are clearly the opposite.

Either works just as well, the 55w are the more popular option though.
It really depends on if you need the extra output or not

You can go on ebay and get it as the $24 special, same kit, same manufacturer, etc.
And the gimmicks:
We match these units with the best bulbs available featuring Philips burners in our specially designed bases. Our bulbs are some of the most efficient in the world and easily produce a higher output than any other bulb on the market.
so all Philips bulbs run the same 35w, how can they be any brighter than say um.. a real Philips bulb? FACT: They do not use Philips bulbs, they are not any brighter, and they are likely to have a high fail rate. Gimmicks are used to sell a product that can't sell itself.
Now let's think about this for a minute...
The vendor makes money on that, Ebay makes money on that, PayPal makes money on that, the Manufacturer makes money on that and then finally the individual component manufactures make a profit too.
After all those cuts there is not a lot of money there to be spent on the quality manufacturing side.
More to the point, you would absolutely need a harness for those, they are terribly high at 20A max in-rush current.
