I am going to try and change my plugs today. Before I bought it, I had my mechanic pull one and he said they needed to be changed, plus it's fun!
Anyway, what plugs does everyone recommend? Should I go to a Honda dealership or just Autozone to get them? Thanks!!!
Im a first time Accord owner so I will be posting a lot of questions!

If you buy them at the dealer, you are probably going to have to go to Ditech.com first to get enough to cover their price! You should be fine at an AutoZone or Import Parts place.
The one word of warning is to be cautious about tightening them up when installing. I'm the anal-retentive type, so I bought a torque wrench that reads in inches (instead of lbs) so that I would get them just right.

I bought them at Napa, NGK brand. They're the exact same thing, the Honda ones say NGK too (I've seen pics of them). The parts store will even tell you which one is the right one.
As for tightening them, I was pretty scared since this is my first car and I'm not a real shadetree mechanic, but I did okay. My friend (a mechanic of 20+ years) told me it would take a helluva lotta torque to strip the hole, and that if I undertightened it would just pop out and I could just screw it back in. No big deal if I did it too loose and pretty hard to get it too tight, so I just went ahead and did it by feel. Didn't even use anti-seize :bawling: Oh yeah there's directions on the box too. It's like hand tight plus an extra 1/16 of a turn or something. I did something more like 1/4

NGK are the only ones we use.... just NEVER use "autolite".... Hondas hate them! They will burn them out within a short time.
I've actually done replacing myself & it's a piece of cake! I just did them snug...not really tight.
Welcome & enjoy the site!!:D

Thanks Princess, you just answered a post I just put up regarding spark plugs. I'll stick with the NGK's, figured that's the way to go. (need to remember to "search" first, than post a question)

Cool, I was just going to ask this question. So I take it NGK makes a platinum plug? Any other brands to stay away from other than Autolite? I think I've bought Bosch Platinums for other vehicles in the past - would these be okay, or should I search out the NGKs?
And thanks for the tightening tips, all - I've always been kinda nervous about that!

I haven't heard anything bad about Bosch.
We're no where need plug replacement time, so I haven't begun looking yet.... :dunno:

I've heard some people not getting great results with the Bosch +4's. I didn't have any problems with them in my old car, but they're just platinum plugs. You really want to get iridiums for your car. They're going to cost about $12 a piece. Get NGK's if you can find them or you can get Denso's... The Denso's are easier to find.

Funny you should say that, I stopped at an auto parts store on the way home from work last night...the guy mentioned some iridium NGKs but said they weren't available yet...??? My car is two years old, and has the same engine as my wife's CR-V, which is a year older - I'm guessing he was misinformed. I'll stop at Napa and see what they have, but will plan on holding out for the Densos or the NGKs. I've got a little over 40k and am sensing a flat spot around 2500-3000rpm, guessing that new plugs will help that.

For the 7th gen V6 and I4:
NGK Platinums - PZFR6E-11
NGK Iridiums - IZFR6K-11
I4 and V6 uses the same plugs. Both iridium plugs and platinum plugs cost the same on NGK's website. I think I'll get the Iridiums. ;)
