View Full Version : how much do you pay for your 8G accord insurance?
uscratch 08-05-2008, 11:23 AM I know it's a silly question because so many factors can change the insurance rate. Just curios.
My Allstate insurance just jacked up the rate by another $50, so now I pay $485/6mo. for 08 accord EXL coupe.
I have no ticket for a decade and no accident. Clean history and excellent payer.
They said the rate went up because Illinois had lot of storms last year. It didn't make any sence. I'm going to shop around for better rate.
BoSSy 08-05-2008, 11:42 AM Lucky you...27y/o - 08 Coupe - flawless driving record for 10 years (except for 1 comprehensive claim I made when I hit a deer in 2003) and I pay $2000CDN a year. With rates going up as high as $4000. Ontario CAN Insurance system sucks!
ryan mcgrogan 08-05-2008, 11:46 AM 22 yrs old, 2 tickets - around $800/6 months
V6_monster 08-05-2008, 11:47 AM well im in the same boat as ryan... im 19 and i run about 900/6 months
jdccb 08-05-2008, 11:48 AM Try doing it in New Jersey for car insurance.
Shopping around usually helps. I was over $900 for 6 months in Jersey, change of insurance providers dropped me under $700 for 6 months.
dendro 08-05-2008, 11:51 AM $460 for 6 months on a EX-L V6 Coupe.
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 11:51 AM 20yrs old/ $900 every 6 months.
100k per person,300k per accident,50k property damage, $500 deductable, and $30 a day car rental with $900 maximum
clean driving record, no tickets or accidents.
qbanlinx 08-05-2008, 11:53 AM NJ full coverage: 50K/100K/50K liabilities, $500 deduc. comp. & coll., 15K PIP auto primary, $30/day rental reimb. = $1250/6mo. quoted for sept. renewal (too high!!). so i got a better quote with another co. (same coverage levels) for $900/6mo. ... and awaiting acceptance and quote from the disputed best NJ auto insurer (NJ Manufacturers). oh btw, 26 yrs old, 0 moving violations and accidents in the last 4 years.
youngn 08-05-2008, 11:54 AM I'm 22 and I get 286/month or 3,450/year CAD with Allstate.
Can anyone in Canada suggest me a cheaper insurance co.?
qbanlinx 08-05-2008, 11:56 AM i hate NJ for car insurance ... and can you believe all of my high quotes were explained as resulting of the accord coupe classified as a "sports car" ??? WTF lol.
V6_monster 08-05-2008, 11:56 AM lol the accord coupe classified as a sports car? no... maybe the civic SI
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 11:57 AM i hate NJ for car insurance ... and can you believe all of my high quotes were explained as resulting of the accord coupe classified as a "sports car" ??? WTF lol.
sports car? mine was listed under full sized coupe.
uscratch 08-05-2008, 12:01 PM Wow, I guess mine wasn't too bad after all. $485/6mo.
qbanlinx 08-05-2008, 12:05 PM really ... hmm i'll have to fight my would-be insurance company on that if i'm still not satisfied with the quote ... but they (ins. co.) make it seem that the info and classification is arbitrary (by god knows who) and that its already described as such and automatically affects the premium (absolving themselves of blame). now to boost my ego, sure i'd like to boast that my coupe is very 'sporty' ... but calling it an actual 'sports car' ?? ..and using that to justify a hiked premum?? unbelievable.
qbanlinx 08-05-2008, 12:06 PM uscratch, sounds like ur doing well with premium costs. whats ur coverage like?
uscratch 08-05-2008, 12:17 PM 100k/300k/100k Liabililty
100k/300k Uninsured Motorist Ins.
50k Medical Payment
$1,000 Collision($200 deductable reward)
$500 Comprehensive
$20/day rental reimbusement
And I have Allstate gold package that has the Accident Waiver coverage(rate won't go up because of the accident, but I haven't used it yet)
For above coverage, I pay $485/6mo.
lldsandsll 08-05-2008, 12:23 PM this thread is worthless without taking into consideration coverage and deductibles to name a few items
dlj11166 08-05-2008, 12:33 PM $923.00 for 1yr in NJ, USAA Insurance
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 12:44 PM this thread is worthless without taking into consideration coverage and deductibles to name a few items
i fixed mine, it looks pretty similar to everyones.
jang859 08-05-2008, 12:59 PM I have to pay like 505 dollars for 6 months of service. I have a good student discount, without that it's like 650 dollars.
I'm 22 years old. one accident like 5 years ago and one speeding ticket almost 2 years ago. I am on a family plan with my whole family so that makes it even lower.
car is an i4 coupe. God I hope there is some way to get my insurance down.
EliteXen 08-05-2008, 01:02 PM Lucky guys how the hell do you guys under 25 have such low rates...
22 years old - $1702/6mo = $284/mo - Geico
50K/100K - Bodily Injury
50K - Property
2.5K Personal Injury
50K/100K - Uninsured motorist injury
50K - $250 - uninsured motorist property damage
$500 Comprehensive/Collision deductible
jang859 08-05-2008, 01:02 PM lol the accord coupe classified as a sports car? no... maybe the civic SI
and how would that make sense when the Accord coupe v6 is a full second faster to 60mph making it in a different class of sportiness? man, it leaves the Si in the dust.

just because its faster doesn't mean its sportier.
Reggied10 08-05-2008, 01:27 PM Im 20 and im paying about 800/6 months for my black 08 EX sedan...but this dumb*** jus put a dent in the back of my car last night and she claims it was my fault so i wanna see how that ends up....
Montreal (Quebec) Canada
26 years old with 1 non-responsible collision (rear-ended 4 yrs ago and I didn't claim) and no tickets
$933 / year (TD Insurance - Meloche Monnex)
500 deductible / full coverage
I was quoted at between $1300-2900 per year from other insurance co.
elp_jc 08-05-2008, 01:39 PM . guess I have the best rate so far:
$201 (paid in full) every 6 months. FULL coverage with max. limits of liability, and every other add-on I usually exclude: uninsured/underinsured motorist, uninsured/underinsured property damage, PIP, rental reimbursement ($30/day), and roadside assistance. These guys were HALF my previous best, Progressive. Oh, it's AIG. Perfect record/credit, married, and 46 in TX. Check them out.
By the way, our '07 CR-V came in at $200 even, for a total bill of $401 every 6/mo; can't beat that. And yes, a Civic Si was a lot higher, and a Civic coupe $245; go figure. Later.
JC
uscratch 08-05-2008, 01:47 PM $201????
You're a lucky guy man.

gaviota 08-05-2008, 02:16 PM I pay $80 per month for my 2006 Accord's insurance
Peniole 08-05-2008, 02:17 PM $201????
You're a lucky guy man.
Married 46 and multiple cars with clean credit and driving record. Not that hard to drop that low. Once you hit 30 and have kept a clean driving record and credit history your rates will drop considerably, get married and you get another considerable drop.
dennisho18 08-05-2008, 03:04 PM 18 y/o 1 at fault accident, no tickets, insured 2004 Acura TSX and 2008 Honda Accord, State Farm, $980 2 cars for 6 months. WITH good student discount and multicar and loyalty. what a ****en joke lol insurance is about what i pay for my car each month
BoSSy 08-05-2008, 04:18 PM So its confirmed as I expected. Insurance companies over charge here in Toronto Canada. Sigh...
AgentWashington 08-05-2008, 04:55 PM About $650/6 months, 17 years old, clean record, good student discount, multiple cars, and loyalty
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 05:12 PM About $650/6 months, 17 years old, clean record, good student discount, multiple cars, and loyalty
and also since the car is in your parents name, so is the insurance.
Digger13 08-05-2008, 05:45 PM I only pay 54/mo with allstate, full coverage. Im 24 years old with a kid that I have custody of. I also have my homeowners insurance through them.

I'm 23 and I have my own policy with progressive .. I forget my coverage numbers but I pay about $1300 for 6 months .. I had one ticket when I was 18
I took an unsafe driving charge earlier this year and they tried to jack my rate by $800/6mo but since I paid for my policy in full, I'm not sending them shit. Hopefully since I already paid for the policy they can't cancel coverage.
qbanlinx, I heard of NJ manufacturer's insurance, I'll have to look into them when this policy expires.
qbanlinx 08-07-2008, 06:52 AM kopimon: they are the only company i've heard of that requires an application for approval even BEFORE offering you a quote lol (pretty selective apparently); they are also a small limited-membership group so i guess thats why. a coworker has NJM and she receives an annual dividend avg. of $120. i'll update you with the status of my app/quote when i receive a response. otherwise, all of the other big names quoted me about the same as you for 6 months (1250-1400). High Point Insurance will be my alternative to NJM if that doesn't work out ($906 for 6mo.) <~~ another NJ company, former subsidiery of Prudential.

Good info, thanks. I doubt I'd get into NJM if it's so selective because of the unsafe driving charge and another speeding ticket pending at the moment :headbash:

catbert430 08-07-2008, 12:24 PM In NJ, also try CURE Insurance (njcure.com).
I went there 10 years ago when Allstate jacked up my rates to $3,800 a year and I've been pretty happy with the service and the price - $1,900 for a year for full coverage.
I'm old, but still have a lead foot.
leeleee 08-07-2008, 01:55 PM 700 for 6 months. 22 yr old male with 6 points on record.
qbanlinx 08-07-2008, 02:26 PM lol seriously what is up with the "under 25" crowd with points/accidents and low rates? as Osiris once said, ins. premiums cant really be compared properly w/o giving all the pertinent info (location, coverage limits, applied discounts, etc). all i can say is congrats to those who have sufficient levels of coverage to truly cover their vehicle/medical expenses properly, and at low premiums ... oh, and NJ auto insurance in general is awfully overpriced.
1434$ every 6 months 21y male with geico :(
ive looked and cant find anything cheaper.. even with the worst of coverage...

well where you live also takes into account of how much your insurance costs too, i live in a low crime rate area, and most of the people around me don't suck at driving.
but jersey on the other hand.........speak for themselves:D

agreed. i too live in a low crime city, however drivers are retarded (hence my overpriced premium); always good to obtain quotes every so often to stay on top of it though.

Union City's crime index is twice the national average according to this site http://www.bestplaces.net/crime/?city1=53474630&city2=53466570 .. not nearly as bad as Camden or Paterson, but still. Jersey does suck though.

But I am still paying 500 for 6 months:thumbsdow
18 and I'm on my parents insurance. clean record.
I'm not even on the accord, but on an 8 year old CR-V. I would hate to think what I would have to pay on the accord
AznX TL 08-07-2008, 10:05 PM also take into consideration that whether or not the car is paid off also makes a huge difference in price of insurance.

ssmtsx 08-08-2008, 04:26 PM I'm a 20 year old male with 1 ticket (15MPH over on I-95) and pay $966 every 6 months for a 6MT V6 coupe with USAA ($300 deductible). I'm on my own policy. It went up about $300 from my 08 Camry.
qbanlinx 08-08-2008, 04:35 PM lol .. Union City is pretty cool .. I go shopping on Bergenline sometimes
lol seriously? i can't stand bergenline and unfortunately have to cross thru it to reach my building and garage (a nightmare to get thru on weekends with so many people blindly crossing the streets lol).
by the way, NJM quoted me $4900 for 1 yr! reason? they are counting my last 2 moving violations (occurred btwn 4-5 yrs ago), as they "reserve the right to consider infractions 3-5yrs ago", even though they only ask for violations up to 3 yrs ago. VERY misleading if you ask me; i may request a new quote next April when those 2 violations are fully cleared for the 5-yr period.
I decided to renew with High Point Auto Ins. $753/6mo. full coverage <~~best offer considering i paid $650/6mo. with Progressive on my old '99 Accord with liability only. Definitely consider them.
TSaysanasong 08-09-2008, 06:55 AM 21 years old paying $725 for 6 months. I have 100/300/100 full coverage on 2 vehicles. I have USAA Insurance. One of the few perks being in the military.

My new 08 Accord Coupe EX-L i4 is costing me about 350/month (2100/6months) and in 6 months I will have a 'ticket-free' driving record it will go down to 300/month. The ticket is the only thing thats ever been on my record... 130km/h on the 100km/h 401 Highway...
bliss53 08-18-2008, 09:48 AM Most insurance companies use a symbol rating system. The car is assigned a symbol based on prior repair/liability loss cost experience. Most new model years have higher symbols until the experience is established. My 06 ridgeline coverage dropped considerably after the 1st year of coverage. My 08 accord has a pretty high symbol. I am hoping that the accord will drop as well. Other individual underwriting variables, other than loss cost, are your driving record, your credit rating, number of drivers in the household, average miles driven, garaged or not garaged, state, county and city location.
Some insurers are researching the use of gps monitoring to set insurance rates. The boxes of computer chips in your car are storing information for various purposes. Right now most information is said to be gathered for service diagnosis and safety maintenance. The information has also been used to settle legal cases because there is data that measures the drivers actions, reactions and general driving behavior. Be careful big brother is watching.

You know, I always wondered about that ... I've been hit with a speeding ticket once where the cop grossly exaggerated my speed so it would fall into the next tier and their extortionist municipality could charge a higher fine. I wondered if there was a way to log instantaneous speed vs. current time or something ...
Phaid 08-18-2008, 12:52 PM I use Geico, and I live in southern Connecticut. 37, married, perfect credit, perfect driving records. My coverages:
Bodily Injury Liability - $100,000/$300,000
Property Damage Liability - $50,000
Un/Underinsured Motorist - $100,000/$300,000
Comprehensive - $500 Ded.
Collision - $500 Ded.
My 6-month rates are $406.30 for my Accord and $270.60 for my wife's CR-V. The liability is about the same for both vehicles, as you would expect, but the comp/collision is almost exactly twice as much for the Accord.
stevencrosbie 08-18-2008, 01:25 PM I have USAA Insurance. One of the few perks being in the military.

qbanlinx 08-18-2008, 02:28 PM Hey You NJ guys.. Wat is ur insurance names
i pay 996 every 6 months.. grrr i use Highpoint as well
i recently paid in full for my next 6mo. policy starting sept. 2nd with highpoint, for $703.
this price is based on: 1 driver 26 yr old male (me of course), 0 violations, accidents, and comp. claims in the last 3 yrs; 50K/100K/50K liabilities, 15K PIP auto ($500 deduct.), $500 deduc. for comp. & coll.; $30/day (900 max) rental reimburs., $75 towing reimburs.; pay-in-full discount, and defensive driving discount.
Steve, can you mention what you don't like about highpoint? Stuff i should be aware of?
Mase764 08-18-2008, 02:49 PM im 21 and have no record at all
im new to highpoint as well.. the giu who helped me was great.. but 703 damnit i want mine cheaper, ill ask him when he calls me wen i need to renew..
HenryFL 08-18-2008, 02:56 PM I cant believe how much some of u are paying!
45, 4cyl exl 4-door here. No accidents in FL. about 440 6 months with GEICO.
Progressive was the highest quote I got-for same coverage they wanted about 1300yr! I always had State Farm before, but hated their service.
GEICO was hassle-free,and one of the lower cost ones .
qbanlinx 08-18-2008, 03:06 PM Steve: your age may play part in not having less insurance than you'd like (you've prob. heard of that whole business of insurance dropping once you turn 25). also, look into defensive driving courses; these can be done online (not necessary to do in a class for 4hrs) and apply discounts for 3 yrs.
HenryFL: is FL insurance generally that low? i'm guessing so. what i am certain of is that NJ has some of the highest insurance rates in the country so compared to all other states we're generally more $$$ :(
I pay $828 full coverage for 2 cars.2007 Accord 2dr EX and 2006 Mazda5 wagon and renters insurance.
I have a reckless driving ticket and 2 speeding tickets.
eckseleven 08-18-2008, 03:24 PM About $640 for 6 months with Allstate and I'm 24 y/o male. Clean record and I always take the Defensive Driving course.
Some people mentioned the Si earlier - it's probably higher not because it's "sportier" but because it's pretty much a kids car that is raced around on the streets. It's marketed toward the young tuner crowd.

action3500 08-18-2008, 09:27 PM $1700/6 months. Quoted and signed price was $1500, GEICO decided to up it to $1700 month later.
I am 24, perfect driving record, Brooklyn , accord coupe EX-L V6.
I really hope the rate drops once I turn 25 in February.
nikosnoopy 08-19-2008, 01:05 AM $1300/6months from progressive insurance. my record is bad i guess, got two tickets from my previous car 06' 350z and a minor bumper accident with 00' Lexus LS400.
Hight deductible $1,000. hopefully it will drop by end of this year.. :)
Phaid 08-19-2008, 04:20 AM $1700/6 months. Quoted and signed price was $1500, GEICO decided to up it to $1700 month later.

Your rate will drop by probably half when you turn 25. Shop around though, you might get a better deal by switching to a new company. I like Geico but I've only had them for the last couple of years, so I don't know how they are about lowering your rates when your status (age, marriage, etc) changes.
jasonapr78 08-19-2008, 06:57 AM Just to dispel a myth...your rate drop isn't based on the age of 25...it's based on 9 years of driving experience. I didn't get my license until I was 17 beause Driver's Ed conflicted with my baseball season when I was 16 so my rate didn't drop until I turned 26.

No, it drops when you turn 25. This is a well known and documented fact (http://www.gmacinsurance.com/insurance101/rating_factors.asp). It's not about driving experience, it is about the fact that, as a group, drivers 16-25 have higher accident rates than other age groups.
I didn't get my license until I was 18 and my rate dropped like a rock when I turned 25. Your insurance company probably won't just immediately lower your rate for you, though; you'll either have to wait until your next renewal, or shop around and tell them you found a better deal and ask them to lower your rate.
jasonapr78 08-19-2008, 02:47 PM My bad...thay is true..I just looked it up. Mine just happened to drop when I turned 26 but I can't complain...I've got USAA and nobody beats them anyway...386/6 months for my Accord full coverage and when I get married in June, it'll go down another good chunck...I feel bad for everyone with these rediculous rates....WOW is all I can say!

ilikemyhonda 01-13-2009, 02:54 PM i'm just wondering how much is everyone paying for their insurance on the 8th gen accord. i don't have a perfect record but i've been accidents free, tickets free for about 4 years now. bought my accord in oct '08 and paying $2400/yr for insurance. i live in Mass. how's everyone?
uhohkaitlina 01-13-2009, 02:59 PM too much.
Big Red 01-13-2009, 03:09 PM i'm just wondering how much is everyone paying for their insurance on the 8th gen accord. i don't have a perfect record but i've been accidents free, tickets free for about 4 years now. bought my accord in oct '08 and paying $2400/yr for insurance. i live in Mass. how's everyone?
Luckily, I have good driving record and I pay $707 yearly. However, my homeowner's insurance is almost as much as your car insurance. It nearly tripled after the hurricanes a few years back even though I didn't have a claim. I guess it all balances out since I don't to pay for oil heat.
Martian 01-13-2009, 03:15 PM That seems high to me, but it depends on a lot of factors including your coverage, age, driving history, discounts, how much you drive, where you live, etc.
I have a 2009 Coupe EXL-V6 w/Nav and pay about $1400/year for insurance. But, I'm 38 years old with a perfect driving record, have been a State Farm customer since the 1980's, and have discounts for keeping my homeowners policy and another car policy through them as well. I live in Baltimore, MD and drive around 10,000 miles per year.
My coverage:
Bodily Injury/Property Damage ($100,000/person, $300,000/accident)
No Fault
Comprehensive
Collision
Emergency Road Service
Car Rental Expenses (80%/day, $500/occurrence)
Uninsured/Underinsured ($100,000/person, $300,000/accident)
Death/Dismemberment/Loss Of Site ($10,000)
Hope that helps.
Martian 01-13-2009, 03:21 PM Luckily, I have good driving record and I pay $707 yearly.
Are you positive that isn't the cost for 6 months? I pay $693 every 6 months. Double check the policy start and end dates on whatever you're looking at that gives you the amount.
ilikemyhonda 01-13-2009, 03:25 PM my dad used to work for an insurance company where i live and he said that what i'm paying is normal for a 26 yr old with my record, but it seems like it still a lot compare to what i'm seeing here...
thinkpink 01-13-2009, 03:26 PM 100$ / month
shamutruck 01-13-2009, 03:39 PM For the Honda,

frainc 01-13-2009, 03:43 PM I pay $900 per year with GEICO. I haven't had a accident in 44 years and no tickets either, so it pays to be a good driver.:D
Throwdown 01-13-2009, 04:03 PM Just turned 24, male in NJ. I have state farm and one accident maybe 2 years back and it's about 1500 per year...
GuidoCoupeV6 01-13-2009, 04:08 PM I know this is an 8th gen thing but i thought that i would add with my 7th gen with Geico i am paying $85.67 to be exact a month which comes out to be about a grand a year, by far the cheapest I have ever seen in my life and considering i lost my license back when i was 18 due to speeding, but all that is gone now with a clean record ever since and it really does lower significantly for men after you hit 25yrs old!!
ilikemyhonda 01-13-2009, 04:21 PM maybe its just my insurance company... i think i'll switch over to a different one next year...
needforaccord 01-13-2009, 04:22 PM 25k/50k liability

lago88 01-13-2009, 05:25 PM 22yrs old no accident / tickets 245/month.... its really expensive here in canada
SD70MAC 01-13-2009, 06:10 PM im somewhere around 130 a month for my 06 Ridgeline, 08 Accord Coupe 6-6,(both full coverage with glass coverage and 100k property 300k medical liability) and an 86 Subaru GL only the higher liability. No accidents/claims or tickets. Not sure exactly what it is since I just dropped multiple motorcycles for the winter and traded in my 09 subaru outback 3.0r ltd nav/vdc(POS never another subaru:thumbsdow) for the Accord.
Martian 01-13-2009, 07:35 PM maybe its just my insurance company... i think i'll switch over to a different one next year...
Doesn't cost anything to shop around. I bet you could save at least $500 this year if not more. I can think of lots of things I could do with $500. :)
jeff27tw 01-13-2009, 07:48 PM i have 377 dollars for six months for state farm (full coverage), i am 26 (2008 accord Lx-p)
getterz 01-13-2009, 08:03 PM $2340 year with 43% deduction which is the highest % of deduction already and for pleasure purposes only too. BC Canada accord V6 coupe indeed it is very very expensive in Canada
game4week 01-13-2009, 08:51 PM I live in san francisco, 20yrs old, no accirdent, just got a ticket on dec 11th, with farmers insurance, and it cost me $616.36 for 6 months.

I pay $101/month for the 08 coupe w/full coverage, but I believe it's discounted due to my homeowners being through them too.
TMMR03
civic88hb 01-13-2009, 10:50 PM was paying 184/month with clean record for past 3years 25 years old 2008 v6 coupe. 6 years back had two DUI's and about 4 speeding tickets. Since I got pulled over in nov. 07 and conditional dl now I pay 315

plus much more need to look on my insurance card!
If anyone here is from KY/OH/IN, I be happy to run a quote for you. I work for Liberty Mutual, 4th largest property and casualty company in the country. We have big discounts for college grad's and multi-car homeowners. My rates in Ohio and Indiana are excellent, slightly higher in KY right now.
Shoot me a PM if interested.
Right now I pay about $1400/year. That's with 250/500 liability/UM/UIM, 500 comp/collision deductibles, 24/7 towing/labor and $30/30 days rental.
Really a great rate for a 24yo with a couple speeding tickets. The fact that I'm a college grad and own my home help significantly.
Feel free to PM me if anyone has any questions. I'm an expert in my three licensed states but I'm sure I can answer most questions for any others.
J. Paolo 01-14-2009, 04:22 PM I thought I was paying a lot. Im 23 male, and pay $160/month. (With two minor speeding tickets). Should go down significantly when im 25.
ilikemyhonda 01-14-2009, 06:46 PM so i'm paying the highest so far... along with the guy from canada...
for those who has state farm and geico, how is their services? are they fast with resolving claims?
xJoeMama78 01-15-2009, 12:39 AM 30 years old, been driving since I was 16, 750+ credit score, no tickets or accidents and I pay $180/mo ($2,160/yr) for full coverage on my car, truck and motorcycle. 250k/500k/100k (bodily injury person/bodily injury accident/property), 10k medical, 100k/300k uninsured and underinsured, full glass, 500 deductible, through American Family. I also have my house insured through them. Not sure what I pay on just the car, but I know the bike is $35/mo, so less than $145/mo.
A lot of people aren't putting their coverage limits down. It is much cheaper to get state minimum coverage (ex. 15k/30k) than it is to get high coverage (100k/300k+). Also, your credit score can affect your rate.

I've never had a problem with State Farm. They always seem to handle things quite well. Personally I haven't had to actually use my insurance, but my parents are also State Farm customers and have filed several claims... several auto accidents (one recently), house roof damage, etc. They have always been satisfied with how things were handled. They've been State Farm customers for decades, so I guess that says it all.
BTW, I do not work for State Farm or any other insurance agency.

Yea, mine is incredibly high considering im at bare minimum full coverage

credit score isn't directly taken into account, but it is blended with other variables to form an "insurance score". But yes, credit is considered.
I always recommend my customers be at a minimum 100/300/100 coverage, but honestly that's still not that great. If you're at fault in an accident where someone is seriously hurt or killed, you're pretty much done for life...
I pay $0.00 a year, Im riding dirty and im not insuring it.
Yeah that's really not good.. Shoot me a PM and at least let me run some numbers for you. It'll get more and more expensive the longer you wait, no matter who you go with.
I really hope you don't get a ticket with no insurance. You'll be required to carry an SR-22 for the KY-required 5 years and your insurance will be astronomical when you go to try and get it.

24, married, no tickets or at-fault accidents. $500 deductibles with 100/300/100, medical payments up to 5k.
$553 for 6 months, or about $92 a month. Not bad, but it could be worse. Coupe's always get penalized in the insurance department.
For comparison, our 08 CR-V EX AWD costs us $280/6months, or $47 a month, with the same coverage. I must admit that I get a multi-vehicle discount and have my homeowner's insurance through them (State Farm).
1stHonda 01-17-2009, 07:05 AM i live in nj and i pay $1200/6 months. =(

ibcop 01-18-2009, 11:32 AM I pay $670/6 months for 2 Hondas - the wifes 08 Accord EX-L V-6, and my 09Accord EX-L V6. 100/300/100 coverage on both with all the extra (towing, rental, uninsured, medical, etc). I go through Progressive.
stevencrosbie 01-18-2009, 11:48 AM $639 for 6 months on the 07 Toyota Tundra and 07 Polaris Sportsman. 100/300/100 coverage with towing, rental, and $250 deductibles.
Taurus 24/7 in the center console as my first line of defense against robbers. Bullets are cheaper than my deductible.
Not bad for 23 years old. USAA is my friend.
dxerg3770 05-03-2009, 10:29 AM I'm 25. When i was 24, I had geico for a year. NY state minimum with $1000 deductible (comprehensive/collision) with 1 accident record. I was paying $1800/6month then $1600/6months. So $3200/year. Now I have allstate with $500 deductible and paying $960 because my accident record of 5 years ago expired. If it wasnt for that ridiculously high amount of insurance rate, i'd be driving an acura -_-
I want to use this thread to rant about the insurance company. Am i the only one that thinks auto insurance is total BS? You are insuring against any accidents or total loss. But what happens if those things happen to you? Sure they'll cover you for what is promised. But company kicks you out or jack up your rates so god damn high. I can't even afford to drive kia sephia. That $3200 insurance to geico i paid is total free money for them. Thinking about this whole auto insurance is making me one angry man.
rockstarpending 05-03-2009, 10:52 AM If you have any tie whatsoever to the military,(i.e. your grandpa, dad, mother, or someone like that has spent any amount of time in the U.S. military) I would highly suggest going with USAA. I don't have the most clean driving record in the world (98mph in a 55 while running a stop sign. Oops!!)and they still give me better rates than most of the posts that I have seen so far. I pay 800/6 months and that is combined with a $30,000 renters insurance policy!! I use them for everything, including my banking! Look into it!!!

chriswashington 07-06-2009, 10:50 PM Im 19 years old, $458 every six months, 25,000/50,000 all the bells and wistles oh and 1 accident at fault on own propery (long story, but its the cats fault, laying in the drive way when there was a ice storm, 6000 in damage to the 03 accord)
Allstate
Gieco was 1400 every six months
NO tickets either
abc123 07-07-2009, 06:13 AM Very interesting to see such a huge range of rates. Insurance rates are extremely dependent on the vehicle, where you live (Down to the city level), age, violation/accident history and coverage/deductibles that it is very hard to really compare rates unless all that data is supplied.
So, as more of a comparison, I have gone through a few insurance companies and the lowest so far, at least for my situation, has been Progressive. I believe that I did a quote on line without calling anyone, just like I did with Geico (I previously had Geico). I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to save several hundred dollars a year, with much better coverage to boot.
Mase764 07-07-2009, 06:16 AM 738 for the best coverage 250 deductible every 6 months
bumoftheday 07-07-2009, 06:59 AM For my 6-6, it's just under $600 every 6 for progressive. Have 100/300k limits, rental car, medical payments and roadside. 23 with 1 not at fault accident in the past 3 years and many speeding tickets in Florida.
ralfan01 07-07-2009, 07:12 AM My insurance, which is with Geico is $1058 every 6 months. Once I get my defensive driving certificate, it will go down another 10% for three years. IMO, the premium is not bad considering I live in the Bronx and I am 23.
cjohn888 07-07-2009, 07:55 AM I have progressive insurance. I pay $540 every 6 months. No tickets or big violations. I just have 50/100/25, $500 deductable plus rental for 2 drivers. Both are 32 years old.
starbai 07-07-2009, 08:33 AM 24 years old... accident not my fault 3 years go but my insurance paid out cuz the other guy had none...
I pay about $750 every 6 months. And I'm not very happy about it.

You really need to shop around for car insurance, its free. Im 19 with an at fault accident and I pay less 450ish every six months through allstate. AND THATS FOR 2008 Honda accord EX-L, 1997 F-150, 1995 Buick Century together. Somethings not right with that! Im younger and have an at fault accident and credit HA thats funny, and have 3 cars and yet I pay wayyy less for Charlotte inner city garage location
starbai 07-07-2009, 10:15 AM I only mentioned what I pay for the Accord.
For my S2000 its 800 and my prelude is 650

Is that on your own insurance or linked with your parents? Back when I was on my parents, I used to pay under $400 every 6 months as a teenager with 3 not at fault accidents in 18 months and 8 tickets in 3 years.
chriswashington 07-07-2009, 01:38 PM me by myself, I wont let my mom go on my insrance period! She messed it up two years ago, so i went to my own.
RedBull 07-07-2009, 04:22 PM I'm 17, and I think it's around $1040/6 mo. w/ State Farm, but idk deductibles or anything. No tickets, one accident (not my fault) and I dont think it hurt my rate.
v-6 nolo 07-07-2009, 05:44 PM State Farm $119 a month. No accident since 1998 in High School and two tickets, most recent in 2002.
