View Full Version : Fujita Air Intake Update!
Neochron 08-05-2008, 06:41 PM I've contacted Fujita yesterday and today they have replied:
"The 4cyl short ram will be available sometime this month. The cold air will be a month or 2 away.
The V6 SRI and CAI will be available around late Nov."
Just thought to share with you guys on this.
Jay1335 08-05-2008, 06:43 PM Nov?!! That sucks....guess I know what I want for x-mas :D
Stephen83 08-05-2008, 06:50 PM Good to hear. How much are they selling it? Does it come w/ instructions w/ pix on removing the intake silencer and all that plastic?
Neochron 08-05-2008, 06:53 PM I dont know that all they gave me. More than likely it will come all instructions to put it on. As far as selling price I dont know.
JamieJam1AIM 08-05-2008, 06:55 PM figure around 250-300
Neochron 08-05-2008, 06:58 PM Sounds about right, However I have seen them go as high as 390
JamieJam1AIM 08-05-2008, 07:02 PM ill be getting mine from the first shipment :) figure ill have one of the first 100.. ol well see how it does.....
Neochron 08-05-2008, 07:05 PM Good,
in that case you'll let us know how good it is
JamieJam1AIM 08-05-2008, 07:06 PM Good,

you know it!!! I was thinking of doing an instructional video as well for them.....
Gosha 08-05-2008, 07:18 PM what has the world gotten to, 300+ for an intake, that better be the cold air version
JamieJam1AIM 08-05-2008, 07:19 PM Nope Ram Air
But Remember Its The First Out So Theve Got The Market Cornered For Now....
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 07:35 PM Sounds about right, However I have seen them go as high as 390
wayyyy too much, even aem v2 and password jdm powercambers arent that expensive and they're 1000x better then the fujita intake.
JamieJam1AIM 08-05-2008, 07:40 PM wayyyy too much, even aem v2 and password jdm powercambers arent that expensive and they're 1000x better then the fujita intake.
well I guess youll be waiting for them to make one....
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 07:41 PM nah......im gonna take a gamble and try out the dc5 carbon fiber powerchamber intake.
intake shouldnt be hard at all, i did it in a rsx and took me 15mins, theres only one sensor that you have to splice and extend 2 wires for. im assuming the accord's should be similar if not identical.

I dunno about u guys... all an intake is is a bent pipe with a filter... whats there to be 1000x better>!?!?

its all about keeping the air cool, v2 uses different metals and bends to keep the air as cool as long as possible.
JamieJam1AIM 08-05-2008, 07:44 PM bingo! all hype...lol
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 07:46 PM bingo! all hype...lol
then why bother even buying an intake if they're all the same?
Jay1335 08-05-2008, 07:50 PM Ok as far as design there are many factors that play into that. Length where the bends are, ect ect. These companys spend tons on r&d. As far as instructions i've installed a few fujitas before and their instructions are top notch.
Gosha 08-05-2008, 08:23 PM then why bother even buying an intake if they're all the same?
youv answered your own question!
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 08:27 PM youv answered your own question!
im the one saying they're all different.
jblaust 08-05-2008, 08:39 PM i think they are all a gimmic. Im not even sure about the exhaust.
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 08:42 PM if its just a gimmic, dont you think all the companies would have released intakes earlier instead of putting in r&d to get more power out of it?
Gosha 08-05-2008, 08:55 PM im the one saying they're all different.
nut they arent...its all the same design, they arent better than the other, its all matter of price and company preference in which you like
i think they are all a gimmic. Im not even sure about the exhaust.
it is man, iv went through 5 different intakes, cold air, warm. its all about the sound which isnt really worth 300$
if its just a gimmic, dont you think all the companies would have released intakes earlier instead of putting in r&d to get more power out of it?
heh, you must not know what a company has to go through to get new product released. they first measure on a test car which takes along time and then produce it, trial and error until they get it right, and then they mass produce them which also takes time. there is NO science into making intakes, get a pipe and measure it, bend it and slap a filter on it and then market it.
its all hype my friend, if something is out, person has to have it sorta thing
AznX TL 08-05-2008, 08:59 PM i guess you guys especially don't believe in gruppe-M intakes.......they run about $1k-5k depending on which car you have.
Gosha 08-05-2008, 09:06 PM well lets start off by saying that gruppe uses some high end materials, with mainstream Fujita, K&N, AEM and etc the materials are just an aluminum pipe with a filter, which usually is not the best.
you also miss the point in branding. i bought a Prolumen HID kit thats made by them but doesnt have the sticker on it, at half the cost, it would cost 250 if it has their sticker on it.
its all brands and hype, if its cool looking and people are interested others will buy it.
what most dont realize is all intakes just suck in air, how can one be better than another? its cant be because they all do the same job...and pricing is insane for just a pipe and crappy filter...

i think you might be confused with ebay $50 intakes. they use aluminum pipe with a crappy filter. aem use to use k&n filters but i believe they ripped off their design and used it for themselves. the air keeps cooler in the v2 because of their design, and they dont use aluminum pipes. the metal they use is alot thicker and heavier making it better to keep the air cooler.
and ofcourse the password jdm power chamber intake is made of full cf and their r&d claims 18whp over stock on a dc5 with dyno sheets to prove it. and their design is far from the normal.

ryan mcgrogan 08-06-2008, 03:36 AM that youtube video was the cold air intake, correct?
Stephen83 08-06-2008, 04:40 AM it's a short ram prototype cuz you can see the filter. For cold air, the filter is usually down further behind the front bumper
A 1 Ownz You 08-06-2008, 11:15 AM it's a short ram prototype cuz you can see the filter. For cold air, the filter is usually down further behind the front bumper
.. Sooo which is better? CAI or SRI?
azntony85 08-06-2008, 12:31 PM the only thing that i agree with is that short ram intakes have less restriction than stock... thats about it... all brands are the same.
Jay1335 08-06-2008, 12:34 PM Yeah but short rams pull in more hot air and after looking at our stock system a shorty will pull in more hot air than that too. I dont know if the hot air is going to be a problem on the accord but I know in the s2000 community heat bog is a huge problem.
