View Full Version : automatic roll down windows via remote?
firestarter777 08-06-2008, 01:34 AM wait, am i missing something here?
does the 2008 accord coupe EX-L have the capability to automatically roll the windows down via the remote already?
or do you have to modify it somehow?
JamieJam1AIM 08-06-2008, 01:37 AM yes it does...... press unlock once on the remote. press again, release both times then press and hold till the windows go down... If you have a sunroof, it will open the roof as well. It wil not close them though, you will have to use the key in the drivers door to get them up using the same proceedure but instead of pressing rotate the key to the lock position, hold till theyre closed.....
pimpmonkey 08-06-2008, 01:48 AM I didn't even know my car had this feature.
I just tried it out and it's the coolest thing ever. hahah.
Stephen83 08-06-2008, 02:15 AM to close everything mention, stick the key in the key hole and turn to lock position and hold it and all windows and moonroof will close. It won't work by remote cuz its a safety thing.
turbodave 08-06-2008, 03:13 AM RTFM!!
EliteXen 08-06-2008, 05:32 AM to close everything mention, stick the key in the key hole and turn to lock position and hold it and all windows and moonroof will close. It won't work by remote cuz its a safety thing.
I still don't understand how they could possibly argue it's a safety thing to not be able to close the window from the remote. :dunno:
shogun 08-06-2008, 06:17 AM :cig:All this info is in the manual. lol
ksills 08-06-2008, 06:23 AM This was the first thing the salesman showed me when I picked up the car, guess he thought it was pretty cool too.
Kidnice 08-06-2008, 06:24 AM Yes, to roll the windows open by pressing the button.
Try this in front of some Nissan owners:
Walk up to your car, and in a sturdy voice, command "open windows" of course while holding the button, and watch their face when your command is carried out. (practice first before performing stunt!)
I did that and had to run to the bathroom by watching the expressions on their faces!
Works everytime, especially in front of chicks!!!!!
LOL!
chainedlightnin 08-06-2008, 08:18 AM awww that's cute. i do that to my 7 year old niece.
seriously... WTF? do they think you're knight rider or something?

JamieJam1AIM 08-06-2008, 08:35 AM Actually I told someone that my car had voice command that understood my dogs barking..... LOL so I told Alpine to speak ( Yes she is named after the radio ) LOL so she barked, and the windows went down.. the peeps were like WTF'en Hell? i nearly peed my pants I was laughing so hard.......
firestarter777 08-06-2008, 09:33 AM damnit, i live in arizona, hot as heck. wish i read the manual. gonna try it out later. stupid salesguy didnt tell me i had this option.

I used to think that is how it works but actually its like this.
Press unlock once
Press unlock again and hold it.
you don't need to hit it a third time.

Ibanez540r 08-06-2008, 01:30 PM I cant believe some of you didnt know about this option, one of my favorites! As someone else said, one of the first things explained to me on purchase day.
...although it would be cool to find out something new after already loving it
opnr2000 08-06-2008, 01:32 PM 1st click it unlocks

"With great clicking comes great responsibility."
MAN_OF_STEEL 08-06-2008, 02:16 PM I use that feature a lot. Here in Florida the heat index was 102. So it is nice to air out the car before you get to it.....pretty neat.
JamieJam1AIM 08-06-2008, 03:00 PM i do the 3rd click all the time :) batmobile it is.... lol
turbodave 08-06-2008, 04:03 PM Actually it's not a 3 click sequence. You press and release once, press and hold on the second one, and veola they come down.
JamieJam1AIM 08-06-2008, 04:09 PM 1st click it unlocks
2nd click it opens windows

+1 with Texas heat in the 100's these days its a great feature to have...
firestarter777 08-06-2008, 11:10 PM i looked at the scion tC before looking at the accord coupe. the scion tC has that as a standard feature and the guy showed it to me. little did i know the accord coupe that i have had for half a year has it too.
grrrrrr......i blame it on the incompetent salesguy who dont know what they were selling.
arizona is like 110 degrees, so it would have helped IMMENSLY had he knew what he was selling.
it didn't help that i have leather seats too and with the monsoon season here,we usually keep the windows up all the way cuz it can rain at anytime, day or night.
very unpleasant to sit in a car with leather seats that is probably 130 degrees without the windows down a bit.

.
Why not blame the person who didn't read the manual? :dunno:

The complete lack of common sense that has infiltrated this board is outstandingly overwhelming
tazz13 08-07-2008, 06:33 AM nice feature for those hot ass days
Kidnice 08-07-2008, 06:36 AM Again, Ill use the 3rd click sequence.... :P
I use it only when i have to fight crime. Other wise i click four times to convert to the lamborghini.
V6_monster 08-07-2008, 06:59 AM so with this click feature that i know about.... about that moonroof? does this work on the 7th gen accord coupes as well?
sonitex 08-07-2008, 06:59 AM The OEM Remote is so limited in range. The window roll down, lock and unlock only works under 150 feet range. Any farther, it does not work.
However, if you place your key on your forehead, with the key pointing to the car, you will extend the range. Before you trash this, please try it out first.

LOL X2
Forget the manual, shouldn't you research a car before buying it?

That's an old trick that's been around for many years. Your body actally acts as an additional antenna, extending the range.
V6_monster 08-07-2008, 09:26 AM ...... can the 7th gen accord coupes do the moonroof trick as well?
I still don't understand how they could possibly argue it's a safety thing to not be able to close the window from the remote. :dunno:
FWIW, you can add this feature by use of an aftermarket module. I iinstalled one in my TSX by KP Technologies... I use it all the time along with the sunroof auto-open/close module.
Here is the auto roll-up module in a TSX

Kidnice 08-07-2008, 10:22 AM They are worried that some kid is going to stick his head out the window.....seriously!!!
Wow!
Actually i just found out in the manual on page 211, that if you hold the lock button for 5 seconds after you locked the door, that the windows do close!
I ran out the office and tried it and it worked!!!!!
Let me know if someone else had the same result?????

So if there's a lack of common sense, that means it's nonexistent.. how can something that doesn't exist infiltrate something else? :dunno:
JamieJam1AIM 08-07-2008, 12:55 PM Kopi? a subspace time riff witha paradox inserted.....
Again, Ill use the 3rd click sequence.... :P
BS, 3 clicks? I have to do 5 clicks to get my Bat Mobile, one time i miscounted and did 4 times and the car spawned a drill in the front and i got my own underground freeway going! woo
viscott 08-08-2008, 07:08 AM This feature has been around since 2003 starting on Gen 7's :)
V6_monster 08-08-2008, 07:28 AM ya i kno that i just wanted to know how u got the moonroof to open with the key?
Honda247 08-08-2008, 07:38 AM 1st click it unlocks
