Princess or someone else here:

My 1999 Accord LX, 4 doors, 4 cylinders, 2.3 litre, A/T, and around 54000 miles have the CEL on. This CEL turns on sometimes immediately after start the engine, sometimes this CEL turns on lots of minutes after start the engine.

The code that is pull out of the computer is P0325 and in flashing CEL code is 23, which correspond to KNOCK SENSOR. The KNOCK SENSOR has been changed by a brand new one, original Honda. I also decided to change the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter; timing belt and balancer belt including the KNOCK SENSOR by Honda dealer and all these parts are Honda original parts.

When the CEL turns on, the car or should I say the engine lost a huge amount of power, it has difficult to climb a pronounce hill, and it also has hesitation when the car start its run after a complete stop (like as if you want to start the car with manual transmission in 3rd or 4th shift). This failure is present with or without A/C on, flat ride, hills, and downhill, everywhere the failure is present.

I need to solve this problem, really. I need the car, I like the car, the car has very low mileage, the car is in pristine condition beside this engine problem, the car is fun to drive, but under this conditions, the car is totally uncomfortable to drive, and I kindly appeal to you and to this prestigious Accord community to help me or oriented me in solving this problem.

Your inputs, advises, comments, opinions could give me and give to the Honda technician another focus, another point to look, another reference to check.

I really would like to express in advance my full gratitude to you and to all of you herein this great community for your help. Waiting for you Thank you

Have you tried asking the dealer to check it out? Is their enough air and fuel mixture coming into the engine? Have you checked the air filter?

I would take it back to Honda.

Isn't it the air flow sensor that causes it to pick up really slow? You can try unplugging it to see if it works.

I would take it back to Honda.

Probably not an easy option since he's not in the U.S.

Princess should log on soon and she may be able to help you.

The only thing i can think off hand is check all motor ground straps, to make sure good connection from engine/tranny to battery and wire harnesses.
reason I say is knock sensor is a single wire one , right ?
So its negative comes from engine grounding.
I know on some old honda's the front passenger side motor mount casting which holds one of ground straps sometimes gets corrosion between the mount casting and head.. A voltage/ohm meter may show poor grounds or just look/check/clean the easy ones.
you might want to check all major plugs for good contact too (ECU > engine)

Thank you all for your excelent advices. To Accord2004: Air filter was changed to a brand new one, Honda's original. To Accordlover: Honda's dealer is from my point of view uncapable to solve the problem, plus, as stevencrosbie has said, indeed I am not in the U.S., I am in Venezuela. To stevencrosbie: I will instruct to check the air flow sensor and proceed as you recommended and yes, I am waiting for Princess to check in. To Edaccord08: I will also going to instruct to check all the negative (-)/ground on the car. Yes Edaccord08, the KNOCK SENSOR is an only one wire sensor. And the other thing that I was wondering is as you positively said, check all the plugs that contact the ECU.

Thank you all for your priceless inputs. You are honestly very excelent people. Thank you so much for your gesture to try to help me in this problem. Thank you all

He said he got the sensor replaced by a dealer; read what he typed.
